HSV would look great in Sandstorm! Don't you think?
If Holden can't come up with a good range and regular colour updates then I think every currently available colour should be an option to HSV.
Cheers

My thoughts exactly. Does anyone know what Bob is carrying on about?

It was the colour that was used on the LE R8. Instead they should've come up with a unique colour for that and made Sandstorm a std colour.

Ok maybe its late, but LE R8?

Sorry, Limited Edition.
Its also available on the Senator as well.
My point was though that the premium brand should get the whole gamut of colours, if they don't have the resources to provide unique ones, which obviously they don't.

Don't be confused, it is late after all, and I'm just killing 10 minutes b4 turning off the pc.
:jester:
But I still think that Holden's colour availability leaves a lot to be desired, especially when comparing to the F brand.

not me, and i dont actually really like the colour on it...

Personally I think that colour suits, doesnt really matter if its a standard colour or not
Would you say they should come up with a different red or black for their range as well?
I think its more about the car and whats in it and its styling that sets it apart not the colour when it comes from the factory. In show cars colour is everything!

Why not, there are two reds available for the Senator and Grange (from the Calais and Statesman palette I guess).
As for styling, don't you think the colour plays a large part? I sure do.

Saw one in the flesh about a week ago (sandstorm).
maybe it wasn't clean, but wow did it look boring and bland.. hmm, not good from what I saw.
Might suit a luxury model however, but on the clubby it did well to make a great car look average.
as always, my 2 cents

I reckon Sandstorm looks the goods in pics, but "in the flesh" is actually pretty ordinary. It would look very much at home on a Camry rather than anything from HSV.

Yep, I saw one of the Sandstorm Clubsport's recently. Quite bland and nothing to write home about. I guess you would say it is a nice colour but nothing special.

If you want to blend in with the Camry's and Magna's just get a
white one.

Nothing wrong with white. At least it won't date, and it'll be easier to sell when the other fancy colours date.
My 2c.
Has anyone ever seen one in the flesh?
There's a 20th Aniversary HSV Clubsport getting around Canberra. Have seen it a few times. I think the colour suits, especially with the black highlights (bonnet strip, side strips and guard vents).
Sandstorm is available on the Senator and Grange too...

We are replacing all our white with Stainless, dishwasher has gone,
toaster is gone, kettle is gone, microwave gone, waiting for the fridge

It plays apart for sure, but if the colour played a massive part we would only get one colour with each model because thats the only colour that would with the styling

I forgot about cherry black

Actually jokes aside - but white is now popular again because appliances are no longer white and most people started buying silver (which is the new white!)
Ipods made white cool again - look at all the hotted up euros (our euro cousins are generally the trend setters!) in the mags, they are all white.

You both need to chill out and get a sense of humor, I don't hate
white cars, had a white Hilux a few years back, just not my choice
of colour for a performance car :)

Was it that obvious, not for some I guess

While we're on the subject of colours I wonder if anyone has noticed that Holden has decided to get rid of model specific colours with their VE range.A prime example is the colour morpheus (love it or hate it) as this should be an SS colour only like the VY cosmo colour was. This was only available on SS's yet you van buy just about anything in morpheus these days. It's nothing more than bastardisation in my opinion and has reduced the appeal and value of the SS models in this colour considerably ! Food for thought :)

Some of the old Holden colours should be re-released.
Colours that tickle my fancy are:
VK Persian Sand (similar to sandstorm but more bronze)
VR Hermitage Grey (Dark Gunmetal with purple hue, was on a Clubby wagon I almost bought) mmmmmm.....
VX era GTO/GTS HSV Racing Green
VS/VT Rubens Burgundy (had it on my old VT and loved it)
VK Formula Blue (maybe it's just the car I like!)
Sorry getting off topic.....

Shanghai Mica anyone? Would look awesome on the luxo models I reckon...

Morphous and all hero colours are available on all sport ranges not just one (SS) that would make no sense. You would loose customers and sales.
The sports range covers SV6, SS and SS-V Sedan, Ute and Wagon.
SSV is the top seller. The cost of one paint colour which is in the hundreds of thousands, to be available for only SS is not a good business strategy.
If you want a specific colour for the one specific model, then start putting together a petition so Holden can look into it, perhaps for a very custome pack (Limited Edition SS or SSV 200 units) Right now is a great opportunity and these forums are being looked at more and more by Holden. It's a starting point for putting together a good business case.
If you’re serious then have your say.
There are lots of exciting things to come from Holden.

For practical purposes though, that Sandstorm or similar type
are the best color to have when you don't want to have to wash your car much.
The car may be dusty, but you can hardly tell with that type of color.
