.
I’m sure you are all well aware of the Continual poor treatment of motor sport and it’s representatives by the ACT Government, In particular the rebuilding of Canberra’s Drag Racing Complex, which was funded entirely by members and other private contributions on the assurance that they had the backing of the local government only to be shut down only a few months after it was reopened, These people mortgaged their homes to promote the sport they loved thinking they had the support of their local member, and then there is the V8 Supercars, I mean what the hELL happened there ?Now they need our help more than ever. We cannot rely on the current local representatives to further our course, so we intend to introduce our own local government representatives to fight these hypocrites on their own turf, This might be a Canberra issue today but we need to fight each battle (and this is a war, it’s a fight for our very survival) together as a united force and with everyone getting involved we can project one mighty voice indeed.
And with that, I introduce to you:
The Australian Motorist Party
The Australian Motorist Party was formed by a number of concerned motorists who had been frustrated by the political process regarding a number of issues. Our founders included people from the following industries:
• Fire, Rescue and Ambulance Professionals
• Local business people and professionals
• Professional Drivers
• Motorsport participants and enthusiasts
Mission Statement:
The Mission of the Party is to represent the interests of all motorists and motorcyclists whilst consistently adhering to the key principles of Integrity, Honesty, Respect, and Accountability.
Party Info
The AMP is the voice of the motoring public who, until now, have not been represented at a political level. Nearly every person over the age of 18 owns or drives a motor vehicle. Nearly every student upon leaving school will apply for a motor vehicle driver's license. Motorists know that the cost of purchasing, maintaining and registering/insuring a vehicle is a major part of the family budget, so why are registration, insurance, and fuel costs continuing to rise without scrutiny?
WE WANT THAT TO CHANGE.
The Australian Motorists Party evolved from a need to inject the IHRA principles into ACT politics.
• Integrity
• Honesty
• Respect
• Accountability
