Over the last few months my window switch has been playing up, but it usually sorted itself out. Unfortunately now it seems to have given up for good and it has me stumped.

The driver's side switch doesn't work properly. The 'feel' of the clicks isn't right and it won't open or close the window. The passenger side window switch however works perfectly normally.

I took the window switch module out of the console and uplugged it to take a look and it seemed to worked fine. (The 'clicks' felt normal again).

It worked for a minute or so when I plugged it back in and I managed to get my window down. However as soon as it stopped working again, my window went all the way up on its own and I had the same problem as before.

Now as I drive along, I keep hearing a shuffling noise every minute or so from the window. (The sound you get when you try to put the window up when its already closed)

Its a VYI ute.

Sounds like you need a new window reg mate.

Sounds more like a switch to me. Much easier to replace and diagnose. Unplug the switches and go for a drive. If the shuffling noise stops, it'd likely be the switch.

I've just had the same problem develop in my VY SS II... I want to try and get the window switches out of the centre console, but can't figure out how... What's the trick I'm missing?

Could be the BCM. I had the same thing happen to my front windows. Turns out the BCM was to blame.

BCM is the most likely cause, just follow the reset procedure listed here somewhere or get a dealer to use TechII to perform a reset.

Nup... Definetly the switches... Pulled em out last night, and the contacts in the switch was burnt out... Swapped the contacts over, and the window went down... Shorted the contacts to make it go back up again... And have now bought a new switch block from Holden.. $79.50... Sweet!
