IMO sunroof, roof spoiler and boot spoiler loot HOTTTT combined. Don't ruin the look.
EDIT: The chrome strips and tail lights look tacky. Ditch the stripes and go tinted original lights FTW.

Get rid of the wing. I think they look much classier without.

Do it, i have a photo of one with no rear spoiler here somewhere, ill find it, slammed on 18s, but still looks nice, only thing his doesnt have is rear window spoiler and sunroof, and its in that horrible baby spew yellow colour, but it will give you an idea

Well m8 i love cars with no spoiler look so much smoother and especially with the vt/vx the boot spoiler ruins the curved flowing lines they have. But in saying that u have the window lip and sunroof which looks hot and the boot spoiler looks good with that combo. If it was me i would take it off and plug it see how it goes for a while and if u miss it wack it back on.

Cheers

nice looking car.

I for one dont like the look of the vt/vx ss without the rear spoiler as it looks like its missing something.

The Doc and i disagree on this point as i have seen the car he is refering to and its a very neat car.

If it was a vy i would say go for it.

if i was in your position i would add the calais chrome bits around the side windows as that would just finish it off.

Where did you get the rear window spoiler or do you have a part number?

Another vote for leaving it on, unless you want to go the mocked up executive look.

I also like your rear top spoiler, is that a Senator part?

imo ditch the rear spoiler.. 20" chromies on a black car will look way classier without it.

IMHO the VX SS is one of the nicest looking cars when the rear wing is removed. However you will have to mount a rear windscreen brake light. As far as I know, any car with a centre high mount brake light such as those found in rear spoilers must have a centre high mount brake light at all times or it's defectable. Even a broken light (or one single globe on the lights with many) is defectable.

Take the wing off and burn it so u don't ever put it back on. And while ur at it, throw those ugly looking tail lights in the bin, she will look a million dollars after that. I hope I wasn't too harsh.

LOL!!! I wasn't going to say anything, but I do agree... Ricer Commodores don't look too flash. The standard VX tail lights are a LOT nicer. Better yet, get a Berlina/Calais boot garnish and standard tail lights at it will look awesome!

Thanks a million guys for ya input.

That window wing thingo came with the car when i brought it and he said it was off the Monaro GTO?

I know what u all mean with all 3 the sunroof and window wing and rear wing looks pretty good.

I like the silver stripe thingo just breaks the black up a little and different.

If i take all the wings off i just don't want it to drive past people and just look like another S pack commo.

I hated those lights heaps as well and repalced them just a few weeks back :smilesandbanana:

That be the one!!! Sex on wheels, that complete package there brocky, nicely done. The colour has its moments mate, and its not as common as one would think, and even then ford had to copy it!! Good plan on the boot too, i cant wait to see it spoilerless with the bling!

Will catch up soon mate for a few drinks, say hi to the lads for me!

i think keep the wing, but upgrade the rear garnish with the Calais tail lights, i have done the Missus S pack, and because it is red, it looks like a Clubby, as the only VX with the Calais lights in red was a clubby.

if i knew how to load photo's i would show you it.

No offense mate but i reckon that looks pretty ordinary.

The VT-VX CAN look really good without a wing, but you definately need to have it lowered and have a nice set of wheels on it to pull off the look.

Your car, with the stock wheels and 4x4 suspension just looks cheap without the wing. Almost like an exec. I'd either put it back on, or drop the car and get some bigger wheels.

But, my opinion, everyone has them.

I personally don't get the 'de-winging' thing.

Why remove it when it comes from the factory?
I reckon its a bit of a 'wank' factor personally.
Makes it look like a lesser model or an unfinished SS mock up.

My opinion only. :)

Gotta agree, the only reason that Brocks looks good is the fact its low with some decent rims under it, unless its low, it doesnt work, the senator spoiler though, now theres an idea, i dont mind them!!!

i love the car as is - spoiler with roof spoiler with sunroof - pure sex
i am a fan of leaving your car as is (im happy you changed the taillights from that original pic though)
i think only a few ss models look good wingless (ve for example, but only if lowered and some nice wheels - not chrome though, except if like wonky's, haha)

put the calais ones in. get rid of the chrome strip.

hay man take the spoiler off but if you do take the window one off to they look good with a clubby spoiler but not by them selves and also the chrome stripping around it stands out to much and the taillights got to go get some vx taillights and boot garnish then it will awesome but dont get me wrong the thing looks pretty tuff already and im jelous of the sunroof

When you guys remove the rear spoiler what are you doing about the centre mounted brake light are you refitting the one in the window or not worrying about one. If there is no centre brake light does that then pose legal and insurance issues if you had the mis-fortune to get hit in the rear?
Just a thought.

env_vxss
23-07-2008, 06:27 PM
You shouldnt be hassled, when i use to have my 33gtst i removed my spoiler it had a brake light on it but wasnt even told anything about it, i was always pulled over being an import! Im sure an ss should get away with it lol and even if a import can!

Anyways im about to take my spoiler off my vx ss, just got some new rims and lowered just wondering how do you disconnect the brake light with out cutting the wires to it?

Cheers

If you pull the wires about 3 inches out of the boot lid, there is a clip that you can undo for the wires.

...imho any VT/VX SS minus the spoiler is...... fugly

they designed the SS kit to add to the lines of the VT/VX range
Holden designed it as a complete look for the SS model
..and I like it (bought one didn't I)

There is no way I would consider taking mine off....
in the same way there is no way i would add a spoiler to an Exec

but hey this ain't Iran...so each to there own

imo vt and vx's just cant pull it off without the spolier.. they just seem unfinished and almost like an excutive with mags.... doesnt work...
vy and vz's however have a bootline that cn pull it off better.. however it needs to have the right wheels and color to set it off nicely. i saw a vy ss in blue without one on which looked wicked and inpired me to take mine off for a look see.... however im gonna put it back on soon as it just doesnt reallu suit my car

see now that looks trick. very nice looking car... the blues pull it off nicely... i hate that my car is red!

as for getting the clip undone, you go in from underneath the boot.... in mine...(cant remember if my vx ss had it) but yeah you pull the lining off then reach up and find the wire then pull it out and there a clip undo it (its also a prick and would help if you had small hands cause its very tight) then pull the cable out from the top.. just do it slowly and carefully tho. then clip the lining and hey presto your spoilerless
