Yeah i know some out there will say "why put Chev badges on a Holden???"
The thing is, I have a red VX SS sedan and the chrome chev badges with the gold centres look very nice against the red paint.
I have found a bonnet one but can't seem to find the boot ones to suit a VX sedan with the gold centre! I have seen plenty of the blue centers but thats it!
They make the gold one to suit the utes but no bastard has bothered with the sedans! Or someone please correct me and tell me where i can get em...
Also guys/gals, what is the best way to fit the badges???
cheers in advance people...

Generally use a plastic bog card at work, a bit like a flat plastic credit card. Work your way around it until you've cut through most of the tape while keeping the card flat so as not to snap the badge. Could have it off in about 10 seconds. :diddy:

why do anything to your car? why put aftermarket rims on it, why tint the windows, why lower it, why put a massive pioneer sticker on your back window, why advertise who tuned your car by plastering that on their, each to their own right?

id rather a chev bowtie for pure looks on my ve, that dinner plate sized cheap chrome holden badge on the grill is a joke, yeah they made the car, but its chev powered and that a good enough excuse for me to say bye bye to the oversized holden one

Another way to remove the badge without damaging the paint is to spray around the sides of the badge with wd-40 and cut it with fishing line.

dont listen to all the negativity lol i recon chev badges give a really nice finish to a holden and there must be quite a market for them because people have them everywhere i mean and its not that hard to get away with i mean we use the mostly same engines as chevrolet so why not haha an try ringing adelaide ute accessories im sure you can dig one up somewhere lol and the way i put badges on? well simple its real basic jus stick them on a clean surface or if you are removing another badge i jus used a butter knife lol worked like a charm if you got the patience  then get something that will properly clean where the old badge use to be ya can use petrol i did lol and then wash it again and then stick it on haha cant go wrong mate i dont have one stock badge left on my car

I am trying to work out the lesser of two evils. I have a vx ss with a mostly genuine HSV Clubsport bodykit. I dont want to leave the Holden badges on but also dont want to pretend to be a HSV by putting on their badges as well. So im thinking Chev badges. I know some people will hate my car already because of the bodykit and say why not just get a real HSV to begin with which often makes sense but I got a great deal on the SS (at the time) and have slowly added the bodykit at a good price. I bought the car off Steve Matthews from F1 performance. I would be happy to go with no badges but those holes in the boot make it a more expensive option.

Personally I am not one that likes Chev badges on Holdens. I brought a holden because I wanted a Holden, and its the car my family loves to hate (in a ford bias family). I like driving it and am happy to show off the Lion.
On the other hand I dont have a problem with it, altho its not something I would personally do, if people put a chev badge on a car with a Chev engine (ie not a Buick, Alloytech or Ecotech) im not going to hunt them down. Its the car owners choice. But I would rather see a SS with a Bow-tie then a Exec ecobox with a HSV Badge.
Which brings up a question, does anyone with a VX -> VE HSV have a bow-tie on their car? (Just curious!)

Mate, I reckon bite the bullet, spend a few bucks and get the holes plugged and sprayed.
You're making the car the way you want it and there will always be some d!ck that has an opinion on what's cool and what's not as far as chev badges go.

I used to have a Black VX SS, and I had the chrome / blue chev badges and the main reason that I got them, was becuase in my opnion they look better than the Holden symbols !

I debaged the HSV when brand new as I didn't like the Clubsport logos.
The Chev badges were a novelty 8 years ago in 2000 and I did it for fun.
I rebadged it to a HSV 4 years ago when I was considering a trade on a 300c.
But like macca said 'Not this topic....again..........slow news day???'
Everyone has the right to do what they want with their car and others are welcome to comment. But invariably the topic has turned to sh!t as some need to dictate how wrong it is.

I've heard that the Saudis are removing the Chev badges from their Luminas and Caprices and replacing them with Holden badges.
Also, I believe that the Alloytec is a GM family engine, or at least an engine with the same capacity and specs is available in a hell of a lot of GM cars in the US. So you could put a Chev ,Pontiac or Buick badge on an SV6 if you want.
Not me though!!!!!!!!!!!!!

amen to that, why dont people have pride in driving a holden with a big badge or not, at least ford drivers are proud enough to leave the ford badges on (no matter what shame is tied to the blue oval :jester:)

:bs: i do have pride mate , i wouldnt of spent 45k on a holden if i didnt love it! Everyone knows its a holden so therefore its a looks thing for me!! The cheap looking plastic badge on the VEs is ugly as F#$K! if there was a blank grill, i would jump at it.. the chev grill is so much cleaner and suits it much better. Its only my opinion anyway.. and i guess its my car too.. well.. ANZs car:rofl:

All ive been reading is Opinion.
Thats all it is, a whole bunch of heated opinions.
Go for it with the chev badges, My grille should be here soon for the ute and ive already got the ally bowtie on the back of my tray.
Its not too in ya face but it does say "I told ya so" to a few of the hot headed P platers around town in there buz boxes.
The motor might not be 100% chev (thats been coverd too many times) but its still family.
Also another thing to take into account, why did HOLDEN sell VY S-SS, Calais, exec chev grilles as genuine parts. Thats comming straight from the big daddy
In all that, i will say that the actual "chevrolet" lettering badge is taking it a little too far and thats my opinion

MJR 350 hit it on the head.
Does it really matter if you do or don't like 'em ?
Maybe you drive a purple car and I like a white one ?
What about all the tacky after market rims runnin' around on cars that came out with popular rims ?
Cars are personal - like women.
Doesn't matter what others think - as long as u enjoy the ride.
Personally, I like 'em. I put them on our SS's and they looked good to me. :flipoff:
I don't look at other cars (without them) and think they look crap either. But I have to admit, Holden dropped the ball when they put that "badge" on the VE's.

Just did a search on Ebay under 'chev badge' and there's plenty to suit sedan boots...
I wouldn't put 'em on my car, but if that's what floats your boat, look forward to seeing the finished result! :werd:
As for HSV bits on the standards... I'm driving a crewman... didn't like the standard hard cover, so i managed myself a HSV one... haven't badged it up as such though... because it's not a HSV... oh but only if i were $30K richer... an avalanche would be mine...
