I've been looking for a really decent price/performence semi slick. the bloke at the local tyre shop reckons these are great semi (i'll mainly be driving these on the road) he claims thy have better tyre life then any other semi but just don't grip as well as the RE55 or the R888, that i was looking at.

at $290 a tyre those it seems a bit good to be true anyone had any experience. i did a search and found a bit on these tyres but mostly on falkens themselves not some much this model any advice?

also how are the nankang ns2 like?

looking for tyres to fit the stock VEsv6/ss rimks around the 245/45/r18 spec thanks.

$290 for the RT615 sounds extremely cheap for that tyre, where?

thats a keen price. I tried them for the odd track day, but found them a waste of time. Probably ok for the street i guess, especially at that price!

Semi-comp tyres are great but I found that a premium sports road tyre (eg. Yokie Advan V103) tended to out-perform them on the street in most conditions. I figure the reason for this was that the semi-comp needed a bit more heat in them to give their best whereas the true road tyre performed better at a greater range of temperatures. Just a theory but sounds plausible. In the wet, there was no contest, the semi-comps were pretty scary. My experience was with RE55s but perhaps other semi-comps are the same.

My 2 cents - Don't waste your money on Nankangs NS2, if you want quality road holding tyres.

More of a "semi" semi (some people disagree) but I have found the opposite with Toyo RA1s . Best tyre I have ever had and I have had lots. No issues with heating them up which is nice. Dry or wet I have been most impressed with the RA1s and they went well at the strip too. Pity Toyo dont make them anymore. Still I reckon you are on the money with a "proper" semi slick for road use.
