Cracking open a vt remote

Hello all,hope all is well,, l have a vt that the door remote buttons are hammered,,,can l open crack open the remote,,just to change the rubber buttons,,from another disused remote that l have.. thanx

Hmm, very hard thing to do, you'll probably destroy the housing getting it apart.

They are glued together from new.

It can be done, but you have to be careful. They can be pretty tough to get open. Try not to distort, damage, or put too many pry marks on the mating surfaces between the 2 halves.

Undo the 2 screws and take the key out of the head first and start carefully prying in the key notch, and work your way around the keyhead. If you cant go any further going one way, go the other way and so forth.
