GREAT photos--thanks for posting them. Maybe you can keep them coming-always good to see what our American friends are doing.
We own a HSV GTO, & I was looking at your photos & just thinking how lucky we were to own ours, & what great cars the CV8/GTOs are, but then you had to go & post pictures of the Viper & also a Corvette,--and ruined my day!
If I lived in the States, there's no doubt I'd have to own a Corvette, & I'd be doing my best to try to make sure it was a ZO6.
Just as a matter of interest, could you post up the new prices of a GTO (at time of last sale), Corvette, & Corvette Z06.
Cheers, Pickles.

Glad everyone liked the photos, will do my best to keep them coming in the future.

All prices are in US dollars
08 Z06 MRSP: 1LZ $73k, 2LZ $75k, 3LZ $79k
08 Coupe C6 MSRP: 1LT $47K, 2LT $49K, 3LT $52k, 4LT $55k
08 Convertable C6 MRSP: 2LT $56k, 3LT $61k, 4LT $64k

Then you have options like wheels, transmission, suspension type on top of that. You can build your own at http://www.chevrolet.com/byo/build.cv?year=2008&make=Chevrolet&makeId=001&model=Corvette&modelId=030

Due to the American economy or lack of it, many dealers are offering $10k off before you even step foot in the door to negotiate.

The Australian Monaro is no longer sold as a new vehicle. Last year any new 06's on dealer lots were going for $26k~30k depending on location and options. The used car market is even cheaper again with plenty of bargains to be had. MRSP when they were consider "new" was $32k+.

Largest and most popular corvette forum is http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zeromain while the GTO variant is www.ls1gto.com, www.ls2gto.com (both point to the same server). For the new G8 you can visit http://www.g8board.com/forums/

I would love to own a Z06. However I haven't been here long enough to establish my credit rating for a loan and had to pay cash for my car, so 08 LS3 it was.

Hope I've answered all the questions

edit: no idea about the radio station, I wasn't paying attention and could have easily been a new song.

Very nice. :)

When did the G8 come out in the US? I was there in May and didn't see any.

Cheers,
- Febs.

March/April if I remember correctly. I've only seen 3 on the road since their release.

Thanks for the info.
Well, it looks like the Z06 @ $79k plus options is about 2.5 times the price of what a GTO would have been new.
Going on the RRP of our Aus GTO (say $80K), that equates to an Aus price for a Z06 of around $200K-a bit out of my price range too!!- But not far away from what new converted ZO6s are selling for in Aus--around $220-240K, I believe.
(keep the pics coming!)
Cheers, Pickles.
