Guys,
My R8 keeps turning on the a/c by itself.
Either under hard accerlation or by hitting a bump.
Is anyone else experiancing this problem???

It is starting to shit me. The car is only 1800ks old.

Seeing as it's only 1800kms old, get it looked at under warranty.

I know some earlier VE's had a climate control issue... but I'm not mistaken that was a problem with the fan shutting off and not restarting.

I know its a bit obvious but seeing as they now start automatically on screen setting, is the control sort of halfway near the demist setting?
just a thought....

Mine had the same problem. When i had the 3000kms service, holden downloaded some updated software and the problem is fixed. Works perfectly. I know of a few people that had the same problem.

Yeh mine does that under hard acceleration.

LOL!

Do you have the front dimister on at the time ?
The vehicle is programed to turn the AC on when this setting.
Even if u manually try to turn AC off after a few seconds it will reset back on.

My whole console sometimes doesn't turn on, it just flickers on and off. It's getting it's 3000km service next week.

I was under the impression that the A/C on the VE's run all the time.
Well at least the pumps do, as they have no clutch in the front of them, so if you loose your A/C gas and refrigerant oil you are gonna end up with a siezed compressor due to no lubrication even though the A/C is turned off because they run no clutch in the front of the pump.
at least that is what I read in one of my A/C service bullitins.
