Vy electrical problems

Have a mate who has a series 2 vy exec with factory gas. He has two problems with it and was wondering if anyone could help.

1. when he runs the car on petrol the fuel guage doesn't work (works when he runs it on gas). On startup he gets a "fuel guage error"

2. Heater will stay on even when he turns off the car

not sure of 1st one but 2nd one is a common holden engineering faults, take it abck to holden.
