Any suggestions for an exhaust system for an unopened tuned MCAI VZ 5.7l
A4,

Was going to venture to Castle Hill Exhausts, dont want to ring them up without having some idea, want about medium loudness twin 2.5" for now but will get extractors and cats closer to christmas. So i guess question for now is cat back what system? will spend up to $800 but wouldnt mind spending less of course.

Is the tune going to hate these changes i am hoping not as I dont want to amend a 2 hour custom road tune that absolutely rocks.

Thanks in advance:)

:search: threads are endless mate, l think the forum has enough exhaust and clutch threads already!!

It will need a re-tune for sure but it should be done the safe way, on a dyno

Aren't forum sponsors like CHE here specifically to give you proper answers to your questions? Seriously, it's all been asked before...

Fitting an exhaust AFTER having it tuned certainly won't hurt it ... BUT ... the tune won't technically be optimised to suit the new exhaust hence you MAY NOT get the max benefits from fitting it.

Check the local rag yellow pages for AUTOMACE in Wickham. You should be able to score a NEW catback with stainless tips through them for under $500. As long as you don't mind fitting it yourself (which is a relative piece of piss) which for that sort of coin you can't go wrong.

If you are going cat and extractors later, I would leave the touch up tune til then, its not worth the cost unless you can offer a couple of cold beers to the tuner to do it.
