If it were my car..
Id lose the Spoiler, Bonnet Protector and Mudflaps. (But i live in Melbourne, Alice springs you probably need them )
Then get a VZ GTO bonnet with the flutes and have the stripes coming down to the flutes..
Kind of like the vz gto LE which had this from factory.
Then you would have one hell of a winner IMHO
Dave :)

the car no longer has the bonnet protector, thats an old pic, and im not keen on taking the spoiler off, and my car never goes off the bituman so i dont need them :P :)
I think they wold look better if they were more squared off, or at least didn't angle in quite as much or early as the chop (I'm thinking better to be more HQ GTS style)

i have a metallic charcoal set off the VESS sitting at work from a car we were meant to be putting them on but they never came in, i contemplated putting them on my silver VYSS as i thought the contrast would have looked sweet, couple of the mates talked me out of it, i reckon you should go for it, if you dont like them they can always be removed

Very nice look, I think the ends of them on the bonnet should match the shape of the corners of the bonnet.

Personally I don't think it suits the car but if you like it that's all that matters.
I think stripes are a little tacky & try hard (but not as bad as ... stupidly large spoilers , rear wings attached to utes , or performance stickers on standard cars, neons , giant holden stickers on windscreens (wow mate thanks i didnt know it was a holden!!) , sideways caps on homeboy boy racers with all 4 windows down, when its 4degrees and no passngers, and adult men with pants hanging around the bottom of their ass cheeks ... you know, anything that screams "look at me im desperate for approval & need to belong".
But then thats ONLY my opinion, and is no more or less valid than someone elses, im probly just boring & over-opinionated :) !!

i think the ones gmmad have look awsome, but i would personally run them over the roof and maybe boot with a tad of spoiler, where did you get them from gm, i wouldnt mind running some over my ute and some slightly longer ones for the hardcover to stop at about 3/4

yep go with the stripes.just dont do the roof.like the old HQ'S would be fine i think.the roof is overkill.
cheers
warrick
I like it...maybe not the roof tho? How much does this cost to do?
Can I ask what size rims you have & how low did you go with suspension? Any issues with mud guards scraping??

I dont think they look too bad, not my thing tho.
Only thing i dont like or think would make em look better, in my opinion, the front of the strips should be the same as the front of the bonnet, ie rounded same angle ect

I made a template and got a local sign writer to make them
cost me $50
If you want a VE with racing stripes go buy one, You own a VY.. Keep it that way..

I like the idea of track stripes on non-VE's but the devil is in the details. Just gotta get the stripes looking right .. and the problem seems to be at the leading edge of the bonnet; doesn't match the VY shape?
I want a set of orange stripes on my silver VY! :)

the front is different now, no plastic

I dont think it suits, but it is your car. I think white cars dont work with strips, that may be the problem.

The ones on GMMAD's car look good. I really like the black stripes on a red car - been wondering what that would like like on the wagon.
