View Full Version : Harrop 112 Super Charger
Gen3Man

To the team at Harrop.
Thankyou for creating such fine super chargers.
Have had my 112 charger on for just over three weeks, and I am literally blown away with the transformation it has made to my car. ( pun intended )
Installed at Autotechnique / Walkinshaw Performance in Knoxfield - Highly recommend them - Their installation and customer service is nothing less than fantastic. Not too mention the price- Outstanding $9k drive in, drive out !. Mario / Greg / Ross / Dave / Phil and others what a great team.
Not only has my power gone up from 269 to 364kw at the wheels, my fuel consumption has improved on the freeway from 15 lts/ 100 kays down to 8.5 litres to 100kays. Also an easy 11.6 at Calder two Fridays ago.
Remarkable fuel consumption considering I also have a 228/236 114 lsa Comp Cam, 3000 stally, 3.9 diff gears.
City driving fuel consumption not yet measured, as I have not been able to drive it normally to take a fair reading.
Anyways - Great Super Charger - Top Quality Product - Well done to the team at Harrop and the engineers and development team who keep creating these mighty fine products !!!
More power - Less fuel - Everyone should get one of these. !!!:)
Perfect solution to the fuel crisis.

Thanks for the kind words and positive feedback. :)
Those results are great (pehaps even a little better than "the norm") and shows what can be achieved without spending lots on hidden costs for 'unexpected' items ... Well done to Mario & the boys for delivering what they promise - Value.
We are proud to have made products that give people the same joy we get from them.

How much do these kits sell off the shelf to the public? Here in NZ looking at 11,000 top mount S/C 15,000 installed ect. Wondering cheaper to buy off the shelf. Ken do u sometimes stock 2nd Hand kits? or have deals?

Ken,
Your welcome. The words are well deserved.
Mario and team are also quite impressed with the power the H112 made.
As am I . Always great when expectations are blown out of the water !
Mario has redefined the word perfect, when it comes to a perfect tune !
Just thinking of the next mod now.. hahahaha
Keep up the great work . :)

I have to agree 100%. We had the 112 intalled by Mario and the team at Autotechnique about a week ago and I still can't get the smile off my face. Their service is next to none, we drove down from Bendigo and that same day we were on our way home. Power figures aren't as high as your's, ours being an auto with stock internals still managed to hit 310rwkw. It drives very quiet until you mash the pedal then it sounds like you are skinning a cat under the bonnet. We have even gone to Heathcote already, shift points need tweaking but still pulled 12.4 taking it real easy. Pedal was no where near the firewall hehehe. My kids are rapped to as now mum has the quickest taxi at their school.

R8ING1, still an impressive result for an unopened engine !
A very quick 12.4 second school taxi , no excuses for getting the kids to school late !

Thanks, hoping new tyres and a tweak on the tune ( set it up for 17 inch wheels instead of the daily 19s ) will see it go a very low 11 or better.
As engine hit limiter on gear changes. Due to tune done on 19s

hmm.. very interesting... ;)
so that was $9k for the intercooled set up..drive in drive out..?
What about injectors/fuel pump.. were they included or did you already have them with the cam etc..?
This is actually very tempting.. do love the SC...

Yes $9000 drive in drive out including injectors.! From Autotechnique in Knoxfield. Ask for Mario.
Already had a Walbro from my Cam install. Although I think in some cases the stock pump might be ok.
Yeah the SC is absolutely killer. Can't wipe the smile off my face.

do you know what % your injectors are flowing at WOT? i would have thought it would be a little to much for them at this rwkw range?

Harrop have a great deal going and great relationship with Autotechnique.
And Mario from Autotechnique decided to pass the full savings on to the customer.
One could only imagine how many chargers he has bought - volume sales/purchasing - can't beat it.
Everyone wins.

Ken - Quick question is the intercooler fluid just plain water ?
Or is there an additive ?

Please ensure that an anti-corrosion additive is present. There are also a couple of weeting agents on the market that work well ... Check out Martini - it is what I run in mine.

What size injectors does the kit come with?
LS1 = 42#
LS2/L76 = 47#
All HTV2300 kits = 63#
The 63# injectors can be shipped with any HH112 or HH122 kit for $264/set if ordered at the same time the supercharger kit is ordered.

No specials slated forthe immediate future.
Is the 112 too small ... depends on your expected result.
Have a chat with installers and users as moderate to reasonable gains will be found with our HH112, good to exceptional with our HH122, and mind-blowingly awesome to ballistically mad with the HTV2300 :)

Have you done anything else internaly apart from the cam?
Have you upgraded the pulley for more boost?

Hey Trent,
Pretty much stock apart from Cam, double row timing chain, 918 Comp Valve Springs, LS2 spark leads, NGK cold running plugs, 3000 Dominator stally, 3.9s in the diff with a Harrop Sports diff cover. And usual big exhaust/extractor upgrade etc.
It is running stock boost.
I run with street legal Toyo Proxes RA1's semi slick tyres at around 17 psi seems to be the magic spot for me.
I want to run it at Calder few more times before I start tinkering more with under the bonnet.
Cheers

Is HTV2300 too big for a stock LS1?
I want to go a H122, but I'm thinking down the track that I'll want more from the setup
HSVQUE
11-09-2008, 12:20 PM
The HTV is more suited to larger cubed/modified engines.. Most people who use them have a stroked ls1(with stronger internals) or a strengthened 6l.
Great Blower though :D

Our HTV2300 is definately too big for a stock LS1.
However ... If going to an LS3 with a cam, the HTV2300 would be a good match with room to grow. It may be a little big, so perhaps try "not overdriven" to start with.

Probably end up going the h122 with a cam. What size cam would you cam that would give that fat cammed sound without losing power from the blower?
Thanks Ken

Although not quite mutually exclusive, a big fat cam sound and good driveability with no boost lost is contra-indicated.
A reasonable compromise would be something in the 220-230 x 225-235 x 116-114LSA.
Most installers/tuners have a "favorite" and usually experience similar results. VCM-Suite has had a lot of success with their cam range when matched up to our HH122's, and there is a wide selection of viable options from all the usual sources.
Find a blown car you like the sound of ... & ask the forum members for their feedback.

Got one being fitted to my Super Pursuit ute in a couple of weeks. Not the HTV2300, but the Ford Racing / Roush Performance / Harrop upgrade blower for the GT500 Mustang. This head unit as a replacement for the 2.1l Eaton provides an immediate 105hp gain in the stock '07-'08 Mustang GT500.
Can't believe the amount of controversy this blower is causing for some 2.6KB twin screw fitters
