Well, what a day. All I can say is if any of you get a chance to fang the backside off your car at Wakefield, you MUST take it. It was awesome.

We had a total of 25 cars out there, ranging from a 911 turbo to a few MG's. The clubbie was great. It did everything well, and the best bit is I didn't bend or brake anything.

We fitted a power steering cooler & some racing pads the night before, and she when like a dream. So thanks again for all your advice on the preparation.

Sounds like you had fun dude. I've got atrack day this weekend at Willowbank which hasn't been on for nearly 2 months now so I'm looking forward to it.

I assume you did the right thing and got some pics and video for us to watch.:driving:

Sounds like a top day. I was supposed to go last year with the HSV Driveability program but after June when I bought the car there was no more events running as Skaifey was too busy. Contacted HSV again this year and am still waiting for a date. Where did you get the power steering cooler and what pads did you use. I've got the performance brakes on my VX2 Clubby and am wondering if they will stand upto the punishment.

It's a good track isn't it? I love it because it's pretty safe and forgiving if you exit, like I quite often did off that tight 80km/h turn 5.

When I did it with the FPV/Tickford Club we had the driving instructor on hand to teach advanced driving techniques. I learnt a lot that day - an excellent way of knowing the limits of the car.

Good to see you enjoyed the day.

racketsports,
I've got the standard brakes it, and with the racing pads it stood upto everything I could dish out. So I'd say your performance brakes will be fine.

Both the pads and the power steering cooler were fitted a my wifes uncles workshop. It wasn't the easiest thing to fit but worth fitting all the same.

I'm going back to Wakefield in June. Counting down the sleeps...
