There have been a few threads on diff gears but I haven't found anything regarding what rpm the autos are doing at 110km/hr following diff gear changes.
So I'd like to know what diff gears you have and what rpm you are doing at 110km/hr please.

Dan, you can work it out yourself easily as it's just simple maths. All you need to know is your current ratio (2.92 if A6, 3.45 if M6) and what rpm you currently do at 110kph.
If we use Y to represent your current ratio and X to represent the ratio you want to know the rpm for, then:
RPM at 110kph with X diff ratio = X * your current rpm at 110kph / Y. (Order of operations doesn't matter)

I have an A6 SSV, standard diff ratio.
At 110kph the rpm is at 1,580 at 120kph its at 1,700 when sitting in the Drive postion. If I put the transmission into Active Select it drops slightly in rpms, probably only 100 to 200rpm.
These figures are based on running the vehicle in Engineering Mode and looks at the engine rpm reading. (have been monitoring battery voltage and saw the rpm listing).
This is also keeping a steady foot on the peddel and on a horizontal surface. If I start to incline or decline the rpms change accordingly.
Hope this info helps...
Cheers
Phil

SS/V Manual - 3.45
SS/V Auto - 2.92
Maloo Manual - 3.7
Maloo Auto - 3.27
All HSVs (except the VRX) have 3.7 final drive ration (M6) and 3.27 (A6).
Anyone know if this is different for the T6060 M6 that they're switching over to?

Same as far we know. The W427 is running the TR6060 and still has the 3.7 ratio.

Got a question for ya.. or anyone who has changed from 2.92 to the 3.70 in the A6.. has it made a diff to acceleration and overall snappiness?? im thinking of doing it but i hear alot of comments that is a waste of $1700??
Its that diff swap or save up bit more for a cam ??

I went from 2.92 to 3.45 recently, and the difference is HUGE.
Considering how much shorter 1st gear now is, i think 3.7's would be way too much for an everyday driver, and fuel economy.
It uses 2.5 L/100km more with these gears, but the response and grunt is well worth it.

CalaisRider has - see his post on page 1. It's a big jump and the general recommendation seems to be to go to 3.45. Hopefully you can find someone who has gone from 3.45 to 3.7 as a few guys on here have and are selling their 3.45s at a reasonable price. As a matter of interest, a number of guys who have gone to 3.7s (complete new diffs bought from Holden) have had issues with them and have ended up having them replaced (under warranty).

Hi Dan,
Not yet Scott's car was not ready for wednesday and rained the two weeks prior, finger crossed for next week that we can go and get some data.
It may pay for you to come for another drive in my car as it has really changed for the better since you were in it last with the retune. the upgraded gearbox withe 3.7 gears and right tune changed my 0-100 to flat 4.0's.
Happy to hear cam is going well and it will be good to see the difference in driveability between the two.
regards
Andrew
