Some nice riffs and lyrics but what was outstanding was robs bass and even Lars's drumming seems on the improve.

I can't wait to hear the studio album!
Should be good, although I was a fan of St. Anger, so I'm easily pleased!

Meh, I lasted 2:22, too commercial.:serenade:
Sound's like something they left off the "Black" album.

I laughed at the shadow of the mulleted giving the devil fingers at about the 2 minute mark...
Tour dates for the North American tour have been released so I can see an Oz tour happening, maybe early next year.

Doesn't sound too bad - definitely more Justice or Black album than the more recent stuff, which can only be a good thing. I guess we will have to wait for the album to come out. Hopefully they will do another tour out here - I saw them in 98 when they came out, but wouldn't mind seeing them again.

Not bad, definatley not Pre Load material, part of James singing sounded like he was a 13 year old with a cracking voice...

There's another song released from the album that kicks these two out of bed. It's called My Apocalypse, enjoy...............
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZJ0H0Ssx48)
If you look around on some torrent sites you can find the Day that Never Comes single which includes the track and My Apocalypse and also a live version of Cynaide. They are all cool.
Had My Apocalypse thrashin' all the way to work this morning in the car.. Love it.. lol.. Sounds even better with big subs.

Cant wait for this album. Pre-ordered it already.
Every monday night (american time) before the 12th, they will be releasing another song off of the album, so by the time the album actually comes out, you will have heard 5 out of the 10 new songs...kinda takes the excitement away though...
$209 is a bit rich for a box set.. Even the Binge and Purge boxet didn't cost that much when it came out.

Relatively it probably did. I remember paying $170 odd for it when it first came out. Three CD's, 3 Videos, book, sticker etc in todays money would probably be over $250
I still think the new box is pricey considering the current market. I think just over $150 would have been a better price to target

Yep album has been leaked, seems people are liking it and calling it a heavy version of Black.
Nah It's better than Black in some aspects.. There's more of a full richness to the music.. It takes some of the newer concepts and also a lot of the old ones and blends them together.. It packs a real punch.. I can't wait to see them play some of these songs live. Almost all the songs are over 6 mins long.. That's probably why they only fit 10 tracks on the album. The first (That Was Just Your Life) reminds me a lot of Jump in the Fire.. A very old song.. There's a lot of bits taken from other songs like the drum roll from Enter Sandman and some bits from Blackened in there too and a few other bits that are familiar to the old albums.. I will definitely buy it when it comes out. The more I hear the songs the more I like them. There's a lot of layers to the songs and a few of them sound like 2 or 3 songs mashed together. There's heaps of transitions. I give it a 5/5 for the day or so that I've been listening to it.

Well said mate.
Im a huge fan of this album, there are so many riffs and the solos are awsome.
5/5 so far, but i've only listen to it twice but its in my car now so i'll hear it alot more.
My favourite song so far with lyrics is All Nightmare Long other Suicide and Redemption is farken awsome :headbang:
Crazy Instrumental as well.. I don't think they've had one since Orion which I think is one of the best Metallica songs of all time and hasn't even got any lyrics..

Yeah, even though Live is to Die had some words it is pretty much an instrumental, so since AJFA there have been no instrumentals until now :)
The song has so many riffs and even a cool slow spot in the middle.

Has anyone bought the CD? I've read that the production on the CD released in the US is terrible, so bad in fact there's an internet petition (sigh) doing the rounds (http://www.gopetition.co.uk/online/21800.html ).
I dowloaded the album and I must admit, I've only listened to it while I was pissed so didn't pick up on any of the "clipped, popping etc" that makes some of the tracks nearly unlistenable.
So, anyone heard these?

There is some sound quality issues in one or two of the songs if you crank it up a fair bit (especially the day that never comes at the end).

Yeah, it distorts like a bastard on my system (I got a digital Sony system with high end Accusound speakers), and I get a head ache from listening to it on my iPod. Not happy. Apparently it's an issue with the original masters.
It's fully explained here: http://mastering-media.blogspot.com/2008/09/metallica-death-magnetic-clipping.html
