three weeks or so ago my clutch went in my clubby, car was never taken down the strip or flogged in anyway hell never even done a burnout in it! put a new clutch back in it at my local racv mechanic as the local holden dealer here should be shut down dew to poor service and lack of careing..mean while i called the dealer where i bought the car Colin Watson motors and told them of my troubles as the car was 05 20,000 km hardly driven with the only mods being full zorst and tune..they told me to send the old one down there and have there guysor (Holden) take a look at it even though most people were telling me i was wasteing my time and money to freight it there as the car was out of warranty and clutches are a pain at best of times i got a phone call today from the guys at Colin Watson saying they would refund me in full for the new clutch and fly wheel! they said there was uneven where in it and they were unsure what caused it..at times we like to speak out and say when things go against us in these situations so i thought i'd shed some light and give them some praise..well done.
That's an excellent outcome. I'm about to post some similar happiness with my Holden dealer.

You are a very lucky man. Even if it still had warranty you would think that maybe you would have not much chance, but good to hear they came to the party with no warranty.:goodjob::goodjob:

Yeah im stoked really..like if i had honestly flogged the car i would have had let it go but i knew the car had ben driven easily and not abused and i know some peoples driveing technique can cause a problem but i own and drive a couple of other manual cars and never had an issue with them or a past vx clubby manual it restores abit of faith :) oh and car may be up for sale too! if anyone interested in it

Definitely good guys down there at Colin Watson's.
I've bought a new HSV off them before and they were spot on.
Also bought new ones of Barry Bourke in Berwick and Booran Dandenong but for anyone down the Latrobe Valley way you can't go past Colin Watson's.
If you feel the need to travel into town to your next nearest dealer then stay on the Berwick bypass and go straight to Dandenong.

I've been telling people for years that there are bad stories, and there are good stories, with anything in life. The number of knobs that have flamed me for saying so I've lost count of!
Just like the 6pm news, we usually only here the whinge stories or the hard luck stories, so it's good to see people prepared to spend the time telling us all if they are actually happy.

I'll take another one of "your" medals thanks.
Sorry you don't like people pointing out things like I posted, but as one of the previous flamers for pointing out the "two sides to everything" argument, I hardly care about your opinion of me!

mate thats good service from an honest dealer, my local dealer is very good that way too, on my last manual clubby i mentioned that the clutch pedal vibrated just when you take up the first few mm with the engine running, they said we will have to remove the clutch and inspect it, if it looks like abuse you will have to pay parts and labour, like you i never raced or abused this car so i was confident that it was a faulty part, and if its not covered let me know and ill get a decent after market unit sent down, i dont care i just want it fixed, sure enough they ring up the next day , all fixed and covered by warrenty :)

Funny thing though, Davo is right. We just recently purchased a large plasma from our local harvey norman. the sales man had just spent around half an hour with a numpty going backwards & forwards around the shop while we patiently waited & looked around. Numpty turns out was only window shopping. The sales man still treated us with respect & was immensly helpful with all our stupid questions & therefore he got a good sale, we didnt even check out anywhere else, & didnt even care. The wife rang the next day to say thanks to his boss & give him a rap. We were put through to the franchise owner, by a wary admin lady. When the wife told him about the salesman, he nearly died. He stated that they only ever hears from the whingers & that it has made his day, & the salesman can keep his job for another week. It doesnt take much to pick up the phone to say thanks.

I do it all the time! If I'm unhappy I mke sure they oil the squeeky door. And if I'm happy, I make sure that I give it at least the same effort.
Why not? At least you have a chance of forcing a change of attitude...
