I will not bore everyone with my list of Caprice problems. The one i really need to get fixed for my own sanity is the suspension noise. Rumbles, rattles and bumps over slight road repair patches. Have been back to dealer so many times and they have replaced bushes and struts etc always confident they fixed it. Nothing has changed. I know there are MANY experiencing these problems, but has anyone found a dealer (hopefully in Qld) who knows how to fix it. PLEASE HELP

There are many posts in here on that subject.
Apparently not all dealers are experts at the fix. Use the search button and you will be surprised at the wealth of info you will get.

Gday mate.

Sorry to be a pain in the as$ but is your car riding on the standard 18" rims or the optional 20" rims. I rode in a friends 06 VE Calais with 20" rims and holy crap the ride was sh!t.....just never noticed it on 18" that are standard on the Caprice even with FE2.

Edit: Get on the phone to other dealers (Brisbane) and complain and complain and complain and complain...anyways you get the picture. There is a known problem and a fix.

I haven't read all your posts. If the dealer is no help have you escalated to Holden Customer Service to see what they advise? Do all Caprice ride this way?

Caprice1 - it is a common problem not only with the Caprice's, but also the SS/SSV's etc..

My 07 build SS had the same issue. Local dealership exhausted all options and performed all TSB's released by Holden, including engine mounts, radius rod bushes etc.

It was at that stage they got approval to order new front shocks and springs, had them changed approx 2 weeks ago, and I have not heard a bump, squeak, rattle or grind since.. finally its gone away and it seems the problem has been fixed... I noticed an improvement as soon as i picked up the car, noticed the steering was alot tighter and wasnt as much play in the steering when going over bumps etc... Im happy with the end result..

I just hope i havent just jinxed myself... :)

Just the standard 18" rims. Actually test drove a grange before i ordered the caprice, and was frightened off by noisy harsh suspension, i put it down to the big wheels> I will give my dealer one more go armed with the info that there is a known problem and a fix. Cheers

Maybe it's you??? I've never heard of noisey or harsh suspension in any VE. There are the usual nigling little issues, like spring compression noise (a kind of creeking sound) and the occasionaly clunk - but both those issues are well known and easily fixed under warranty.

Dealers don't want to though, they must be making a packet out of Holden picking and choosing what they want to do - I guess until warrantys run out. My Dealer is all "yes, we know about that issue!" yet I pick the car up and still not fixed, then guess what, oh, we better order these parts aswell - now its costing me nothing, so who is paying for it, and that same person must be bending over to the dealers instead of saying look - this is how to fix it, these are the parts, do it - clearly the bulletins don't work....

They do at my dealer... I get my car back after they've had to fix an issue and it's fixed fine!
