My brother snapped this pic of a G8 as it was coming through Toll Autotrans a little while ago. Special order from the states, but bad news is it isn't going to be street registered. Not sure the story on it though. Only photo i got sorry, still looks nice

that sounds good. Im sure a few people will jump on that kit. Wouldn't mind seeing a few G8 look-a-likes cruising round Perth. Wouldn't do it to your SS though would you??

Deano - are those voices in your head talking to you again haahaa

Gotta admit though I like the look of the G8

Right paint colour and it looks tough - just gotta hope that not too many people jump on the band wagon and copy it here

Sweet. I wouldnt mind the bonnet. Would cost a packet though. Looks like you'd have to install the front bumper to match it up. I dont think the front bumper looks that good. It looks like it doesnt sit as low as the SS and HSV bumpers and the shape isnt as good.

Jonbonnet without bumper/grill apparantly wont fit without some modification to the bonnet...
in specific to the middle bit at the front...would need bending back up into the bonnet or cutting off...
or so he told me as he is doing it to his ute....

Only problem with going for the bling bits is it will delay getting more cubes , you won't see the G8 kit when youre driving the car anyway .

Personally, I prefer the HSV and SS/SSV front ends, but that's just me.

Still, it would be interesting to see the G8 front end on the streets here.

Theres a place in SA that make the same bonnet to fit the VE's costs about 1650 for a primed bonnet and about 100 to send it to WA... pm me if ya want some more details...

I personally dislike the Pontiac front end. I personally prefer the SS-V front end. Looks a lot sleeker that way.

who would possibly want to do that?

Some people would get the bonnet, but i believe the bonnet requires a different front bar.. meaning you have to go the whole way.

I saw a black Pontiac GXP last night--these are fitted with the 6.2 litre LS3, & yet to go on sale in the U.S.
This car went past me FAST, & was making a beautiful noise--& it pulled into a servo, so I went in to have a look.
The driver was great--there was nothing secret about the car he said, because the car specs have already been revealed, so he was very happy to chat & answer all my questions.
I commented on the exhaust, which I reckoned was awesome-sounded like a Nascar when he went by me, -I mentioned that the exhaust sounded great, but I didn't think it would pass ADRs in Aus-- He confirmed that it wouldn't, but that it would be ok in the states where they are allowed 16db more.
So, my impression--bloody good car--bit like a Clubsport, but without some of the trimmings--maybe a cross between an SSV & a Clubsport.
Cheers, Pickles.

you can actually modify the G8 bonnet to make it fit on the SSV/SS bumper
basically i was told the middle bit that pokes down is basically bent back up under the bonnet

will wait and see how this guy goes and see if it can be done.

Thats what I was saying before... the place in SA is making the bonnet already shaped to go straight onto the VE's :yup:

It would be good to have the bonnet & a HSV front bar, that would look good IMO.

Well, it could've been--looks the same, --wheels & bonnet etc--but I didn't get the number.
I like the bonnet--much better than the Walkinshaw "Bulge" IMHO.
Cheers, Pickles.

I hope no one likes it a little more than the owner. I had my SS stolen from that very yard.

I remember reading your post about that. That would be one of the worst things to happen whilst waiting for delivery. When i asked him, My brother recollected a red VE SS went missing (stolen overnight) about a week ago. Unfortunately it isn't the first time they have had cars stolen, but the g8 got through alright though.
