Hi, I am in Dubai, my Monaro is in Sydney. The battery is flat and my daughter needs to open the boot. I believe there is a manual release but can't remember where it is. Can anyone please help?

Thanks

Hi, thanks but the glovebox button operates a solenoid. The battery is flat. Or am I wrong?

Isn't there a yellow pull handle in the boot on the back of the rear seat - reach it thru the ski port?

Yes, it is the location of the yellow manual release I am seeking. Rember this is a monaro so there is no fold down ski hole.

Any monaro owners know where it is?

This is kinda urgent, because she needs to charge the battery tonight and the charger is in the boot.

Thanks guys

give the man a cigar.

lift the rear passenger headrest and behind it is the yellow handle to open the boot.

Same info would be in the handbook... Does that mean your handbook is magic too? Or do you keep yours in the boot? :stick:

If I had access to the user manual then I would have looked it up. I am in Dubai, the car is in Sydney, the user manual is storage, it was 11pm, my daughter is not a car person and really needed assistance. My first action was to do some searches here which did not result in an answer, so I posted the question. Got the answer pretty quick. All is good now, the battery is charged and the car can be moved. :):goodjob:

Thank you all. I can't wait to get back and drive on some roads where the other road users are more predictable. Anyone else driven on Sheik Zayed Road in peak hour with all cars travelling at 120+ when lane lines and indicators are ignored?

No, but I have seen it and been in it - scary stuff. You could also try Khartoum for fun and games, with TukTuks, goats, donkeys and camels during peak hour!!!

Dubai is a very unrealistic place - if you have cash, or are just an outsider looking in.
