These times are from stripped out light weight race tuned full slicked track prepped monsters no doubt..?? There are many big cammed and FI cars out there still trying to find 123mph

They should be trying to find a different tuner instead.:errr:

Saying that - all three cars above were stripped though - the fastest I've personally seen full weight is around 11.5/6 ish @ 118 ish on MT's.

"Street driven" is a pretty loose term I'm afraid as well :)

Does this include valve spring upgrade? Its all in weight reduction.

how about you head to the track and start having a crack???

here is something to chase anyway. definitely a LONG way off those times listed above. but its a street car with zero weight reduction driven to the track, change the rear boots, race, change em back, and drive home again...
has done 28,000kms in the last 18 months...

VY II Maloo... all stock body, all stock suspension, valve springs, full exhaust, otr, tune, 3.9's, stall, 16" mt's...
12.330 @ 109.22mph... 1.694 sixty... this was on its first trip to the track with the new boots and stall... only got 2 passes where it actually hooked up well... vids on youtube if you search for VY Maloo and look for some in car ones

now fitted 25% UDP and going out again on saturday for another go... can't wait.

These time's could have been with the help of "Sneaky Pete" also ???
Especially if it was from a tune shop !!!

well i can vouch for 2 of these times and there was no sneaky pete. the phonz and deejay are not idiots. they know there stuff. they dont need sneaky pete to do anything. if the phonz runs a car with gas he would tell people.
i have nodoubt in vysleds case there was no sneaky pete also.
you sound like a grumpy ford owner that cant even get close to what a ls series car (holden) can do. hope not.

I got all the weight reduction talk and I am sure it is done and it has an improvement but how much weight are you really going to strip??? 100kg, 200kg :o ... 200kg (which would be might tough) would net you 3.3mph and 3tenths .... still 120mph :D ...

Don't want to sound like a smartalek but not even the W427 can get anywhere near those times. :1peek:

Maybe not but it's pretty easy to get a bolt on into the low 12's/high 11's which is faster than the published W427 times.

Do the same stuff to the W427 & I'm sure it would better them.

Pretty much in a nut shell.
No cams, heads etc - valve springs was allowed last year but that is about the only thing that touches oil allowed.

My VZ SS did a 11.3 @123 at WSID on July 16th.
Weighed in at 1850kg.
Will be putting in a bigger stall for next trip and trying to get into the 10sec mark.

low 12's - done it...
high 11's - chasing it...

i think (as you and others have stated in the past in other threads) its all about spending the money smartly and in the right places!!!
there are only so many things you can do in a 'bolt-on' application, its not just motor power that makes it quick.
grip, suspension set-up, driveline set-up... this is where one car can run 110mph for low 13's, and another car can run 110mph for low 12's...

sorry. not having a go at all ford owners. only one that thinks sneaky pete was used to do the times these guys did. as for the w427. nice car but not all that fast but like statie said do some tweaks to it and im sure it will be a rocket.

That's cool mate, I was joking any way.

I personally know VYsled, and how he raced his car, it was gutted, custom inlet manifold, dry ice, tuned to the last inch of it's life, but for sure it was unopened and N/A and I beleive the boys from GMM as all above board also
