Hey guys, on the way to wsid last night was driving down the M4 when all of a sudden i hear a pop and water sprays up my windshield.... from under the bonnet followed by plenty of steam. The dash reads low coolant. Pulled over to find my radiator cracked down the drivers side with no coolant left in the resiviour. Long story short i got to a servo and put in some stop leak and loaded up with a couple of bottles of water and made the trip back to the gong.

Is it likely that the radiator would have been on its last legs anyway or is this a direct result of high load? I have only had the car for a week and is under Holden certified warenty, Wonder if they cover radiators?

Very common with these mate.. mine did the same, on the driver side.. there are some good replacement options out there. As for warrenty..:bawl: might be ware and tare issue..

That's become a common occurance for the VT/VX as they aged and I guess it's now time for the VY's to get to that age where they might just follow the same fate. I have replaced my radiator due to the same thing. Didn't go as quickly as that, just cracked and leaked slowly and was able to see it on the ground before it got too bad.

That sucks mate:(, just have a look in the Warranty booklet Holden gave you. I doubt they will cover it coz as TUFFIE said they will just blame it on wear and tear. Hopefully it gets sorted out soon mate.

I had this with my VZ, so it's not confined to the VT/X cars.
