Hi Guys.

Thought this may be of interest to anyone wanting a cheap laptop for the kids or for Tuning etc.

The laptops are about 2 years old and are DELL's

Pentium M 1.3G
256MB RAM (SD)
40GB HDD
DVDROM/ CDRW
Carrybag, charger etc

Windows XP Pro Licence

Last I looked we still had about 12 left.

$200 pickup only.

Hello everyone,

Seems like there is a fair bit of interest in mail orders.

I'll do what I can. Originally work only wanted local (pickup) sales.

I will check out packing & postage options & costs.... AND I'll check to see whether work can offer that.

Okay just picked up one of the laptops to check features etc:

The Laptops are DELL Latitude D500 ...

The HDD has been wiped prior to us receiving them. SO you will need to re-install an operating system. As mentioned previously they are OEM licenced for Windows XP Professional and come with the Product Key necessary for install.

Hmm, they are pretty dated. You can get brand new ones for $400-500 dollars which would be double that speed with better everything. Ram, graphics, CPU, screen, HDD.

Some thing to think about.

Stick to your guns Chris. Just because people can buy a brand new laptop as above for $400 odd doesn't mean you should drop your price.

Look on Ebay and see what they are going for, it's hard to get a laptop, a decent one anyway for under $200 so your price is fair. If someone wants to pay $400 for a crap new one then they will.

Im getting one to store my Dynojet Harley tunes on it ( one summer/one winter set-up), and also to have a play around with efilive to educate myself on it

Means I dont have to cart the my work laptop home all the time to play !!

To be honest I felt that the previous post didn't even deserve a reply.... Especially when these things could have been sold for more money on ebay, but I offered them here first (and cheaper) as I thought they would be appreciated and put to good uses by LS1 members. (I was thinking of your tuning Laptop:eyes:)

$200 is CHEAP... and they are all sold! (just waiting on all payments to filter through before I request the thread to be closed)

I don't believe the point wasn't to get him to drop his price, merely point out the relative worth of IT equipment.

As an example, a client of mine recently sold off their refurbished units .. P4 desktop with 1GB RAM, 40GB HDD, 15" TFT, mouse and Keyboard (No OS) $45 ... 14" Latitude, 512MB ram, 40GB HDD laptops (No OS) $75 ...

I have a 17" Asus here with a Dothan 2.0, 2GB RAM, 256MB X700 video card, 80 GB HDD that won't sell for 400 these days. 3 years ago, it cost me $4500.

Technology comes and goes so fast, that it is almost worthless 2 years down the track.
