Hey mate, that ute looks mint.
Did you go the flat hard cover or is that a variation with subtle lumps?
Did you get it from Blueys?

Ah, the old "will I need shocks?" argument...... Comes up from time to time and you'll always get people arguing both sides. Having had mine lowered with King SSLs for over a year before someone finally released short body shocks for them. I now find the handling much more settled with the Monroe short body shocks and I don't even push it hard through corners! I'm sure you'll find that from the safety point of view most/all suspension places will say change the shocks too - FE2 shocks with ultralows will already be close to the limit of their travel.
The ute springs mustn't be as low as sedans, although admittedly my SSLs seem to have came from a batch over a year ago that were lower than they should be and strangely came down even further when the shocks went in. A pic from yesterday's Vic cruise (20" rims).

Having made a few enquires last week with King I was informed that they have only just released an SSL varient spring to suit VE utes. Centre wheel to guard measurements were quoted as being 360mm.

Lowering springs seems to be lower in sedans then utes?
Ultra lows in ute arnt as low as ones in sedans? is that different shocks size or something?
If i wanted my ute to be abit lower in the rear would it be better
to get superlows in front and ultra in rear.
or if u got ultra allround would the rear be slightly lower anyway?

Maybe thats to compensate for payload???

We have been using Bilstein struts and adding extra circlip grooves to use the lowest of the Eibach coils, and set the ride height where required.
There is a set in the for sale section at the moment :nyuk:

Thanks Tim. :) Unfortunately I'm going to have to raise the rear a bit now because with the Monroe shocks having more travel in them than the stockies already compressed down 60mm plus 20x10 rims with 275 tyres I now scrape the rears on any bump bigger than a bit of ant shit. Guards are rolled already.
