Im about to buy some Kuhmo Ecsta SPT KU31's, had them on my 350z prior and thought they where great BFYB tyres... 245/45 R18 (same as your SV6??) are going to cost me $180 each balanced and fitted. However im in a diff state, but thought the info might be useful..

I went to the website - they have nothing about shipping overseas, how do you get to that window? (only accepts North America Zip codes)

What's wrong with the OE Bridgestones? They do pretty well in tyre tests. Don't go cutting corners on tyres...

EDIT: Ive got about 20% tread left on my current Bridgestones, and its like driving on ice in the wet weather.. Sure they are nearly at the end of their life, but still.... Ive done 37K..

You need to send them an email and they will get back to you with a quote. They will give you their bank details and you need to wire the funds.

Has anyone noticed that the road noise seems to be louder in the VE's? My VX wasnt as bad, even when cars pass. Maybe its just me.

Yep, did it before I bought the car. About $2k for a set in the SS 18" size and $2400 for a set in the 19" SS V size (helped me make up my mind to buy the SS!). But unless I come across another tyre that's as good for less, I wouldn't be interested in switching.
The OE tyres did really well in the Wheels or Motor tyre test a few years ago so I'm looking forward to the next one with interest (I've done 47k on mine and I'm guessing about 5k worth of tread left on them now).

You've done well mate.. I by no means push my car hard round corners etc, have always ensured that my tyre pressure is spot on, have done 37k, and am about half a millimetre from the tyre indicators being in line with my tread.

OK Thanks Louie - I'll try it when I need the 20's for the GTS.

Two points in my favour though: I live in Canberra, which is easy on cars, and most of my km have been on highways and freeways. So I'm really only super-easy on tyres by default.

OEM RE050 - $495 each
Goodyear Eagle F1 - $431 each
Bridgestone RE001 - $342 each.
I think I will be replacing the RE050A's with RE001's. Anyone got any feedback on the RE001's?
The Eagle F1's have been fantastic on the Subaru, but at $90 cheaper per tyre, the RE001's will be my replacement tyre. I picked up my SV6 2nd hand, back tyres are near knackered - 38,000km. Previous owner would have got more out of it if they had rotated the tyres.
