350Z vandalised - Egging shattered my paint

Hi guys,

This weekend my 350Z had an egg thrown at it which shattered the paint next to the door handle, as shown in the pics. I've been reading about eggings a fair bit lately so this is turning into some sort of strange epidemic.

I've been quoted $750-$1,250 for a flawless repair by a quality workshop.

I thought I'd post up pics to raise awareness of this problem. I'm told that this damage is typical of an egging. The egg contents washed right off, but the impact was enough to do this - paint has been shattered all the way through to the primer:

JK mate.. I had an egg thrown at my Z, luckily for me it hit the bottom part of my front bar so wasnt as noticable.. Its amazing how much damage one egg can make...

Someone egged my old car when i was sitting in it one day, followed em and they puled into a driveway with a big bloke standing out the front. Turns out to be a carfull of teenagers and the guy was their dad..... He went off his brain at them and made em hand wash my car and pay for the damage to the paint :p

I really feel for you mate. It's happening a lot in Sydney too. I was targeted by a car full of P platters who thought they were hard c#*t's. Tried to egg me thinking I wouldn't chase them. BZZZZZ WRONG! I was lucky enough to catch up with them. I won't say what happend or the end result. But that's one group of gay teenagers who won't be egging anyone soon. Problem with these little pricks who think they know it all these days is they have no respect. I put this down to their whimp fathers who never taught them any.

i wonder if that they realise how much damage it does to the paint, id be amazed if they do, i was really supprised when i washed the egg off and then tried to polish off what i thought was stuck on egg bits only to realise that it was beyond polishing

Afew months ago my pulsar was spray painted and walked all over by a group of young little shits with nothing better to do on a saturday night. Luckly it wasn't my monaro as that is locked up in the garage. But yeah, I have a nice big pole sitting in the garage now incase it happens agian.

I got egged from an oncomming car about 10 years ago in my white Calais. Straight through the paint same as yours, but I got a nice big dent in the panel.

Some of these little shite heads just need a damm good old fashion flogging. In my day you knew what was right and wrong and if you got caught mucking around with other peoples property you got flogged by the owner and then the coppers followed by your parents.

Now days the little pricks don't even get the cane at school and their parents can't hit them because too many do gooders ( f*&k them ) complain it is wrong to hit a child...what a load of crap....Maybe if half of them got flogged for there stuffups we wouldn't be putting up with have the crap we do today.

My story:


Picture this ...

Driving home one night, 11:30pm, slowly coming to a stop at a set of lights where you hear a LOUD bang ... WTF :confused: shit bricks as i duck my head out the way as my inital thought was it was a stone flicked from a passing car that hit the windshield.

Looking for the crack ... cant spot it ... turn to my right, headcheck kinda, egg all over the side of my car ... I have never had my blood boil so fkn badly.

Hard on the brakes ... rapid u-turn full ball try to chase these fkn low life sad case kids that need to be fkn taught a lesson, but unsuccessfull, lucky for them!

I finally cool down realising they're long gone, to find a clubby up my ass that i had passed in my rage, he thought i was trying to race him lol

So i rush down to the carwash ... clean it off asap ... BUT i missed abit of the splash that landed on my spoiler and thats eaten away at the paint...

For some reason im ok about it happening to just the spoiler, if it was the boot or something fark i'd be pissed

... same thing happened to me n a few mates in a maxi cab on the way home one night, these low life fks threw bout 5-10 eggs at the cab before turning off onto a side street

Why are there people out there like this? Its depressing

I would loved to make those fkrs eat 17 raw eggs each or pound them on their skull whatever i'd enjoy watching the most

when i did wrong as a kid and the old man found me out a floggin' it was, you knew it was comming and no matter how many tears or crying it did no good, same at school, i got a teacher so pissed off he actually broke his cane on my chubby ass! and id like to think that because of those "lessons" now i know how to respect other peoples property, just doesnt seem to happen these days. im not saying bash kids but some discipline couldnt hurt, a good talking to just doesnt have the same effect

I was working the other night in Edithvale when a dark blue sh1t fighter rolled up and egged one of the boys who was spotting for Me on the ground..........I was up in a bucket working on a pole.

I wonder y it does that to the paint i had the same thing happen to my car except much worse but y does it leave those little specks or chips in the paint. in my situation when i washed it off the paint actually flaked off with the egg so they were big chips , i just brushed it up with some touch up paint looks ok not perfect though

Thankfully my Caprice is nice and safe in the garage, still unmarked after two years. After this, experience, I don't think either car will be coming out of the garage on a Friday or Saturday night. I'll use this instead, the old reliable workhorse we have - still a nice cruiser:

I feel for you mate. My previous Black VY SS ute got egged while it was parked outside of my house. The really bad thing was when it happened it was during my weekend (shift work) and I didn't go outside or use the ute for two days so the egg just sat there baking away in the summer sun ruining my paint work before I noticed it :bawl:

Must be a common incident as my car was egged on the weekend. Lucky for me the egg exploded on the drivers side window so no paint damage.

sorry to hear about your z mate..i have a 06 Z also and i just love it...its a auto touring ...orange and a orange VE SS....i would hate anyone to damage my cars... i know how you would feel mate...

had the same thing happen to my calais. hit the lower part of the drivers door underneath the side protection moulding. Cant see it unless you are really looking for it, but it cracked the paint and as holden seemed to use a light colour on the undercoat of the Raven paintwork, it shows abit.

i left my demo overnight the other night coz i was on the booze and came to get it the next morn and it had been egged! lucky it hit the drivers window.

Haha nice garage. Best of both worlds, a bit like mine but I went with the WM. Wheels on the SS are hot.
