Yes its free mate but its not a service its just a checking over of everything.

They dont actually change any oil or filters etc unless you ask them to and then itll cost you $$.

Most of the boys on here myself included got them to do an oil change and filter at 3000.

Should be about $80.

it normaly depends on what the deal was with you and your dealer , some negotiate it and some dont..different offers from different yards eg , $100 fuel or 1st service free ect ect..

Its not free - you pay for it in the sale price of your vehicle.

Proof - If you try to get it done at a dealer other than the one that sold you the car, the other dealer will charge the selling dealer for the service. And the service manager will roll his eyes at your request because he can't be bothered with the paper work.

If you get the oil changed you should only pay for parts, no labour. That is what happened with my 3000km check-up as I had them change the oil...

Not correct.
Changing oil is not a listed service, and any non-listed service will normally add both parts and labour charges. You did better than normal.

Well that is nice to know then, just thought that was the way it is... Cheers, guess the dealership does look after you sometimes then

Yep free but what do they do?
Not much as already stated .
If you have a tuner or mechanic get your free service then go to your tuner/mechanic and then get it really checked.
Change your oil as the stock stuff is not that good compared to the rest of the market.
Not much help but concretes opinions on holdens service i guess.

Cheers,

Andy.
