Hey guys, maybe I should post this up in the classified section, but need to know if any retailers out there are still selling ex GMH stock of VT Aussie V8 stroker short or long motors. My nephew is contemplating a rebuild of his VN 304, but going by past adverts, it may be worth considering a brand spanker instead. Checked Holmart website but to no avail.
Thanks in advance.

Speak of NOS parts, does anyone know if you can still get NOS parts for VLs anymore?
A mate of mine is chasing some parts for his car

Was going to do the ring around tomorrow. Issue just arose today when my nephew said he was quoted almost 4 grand for a rebuild with standard crank...I thought he could do much better with that sort of coin and gets a spare motor too.

Heritage Holden in Lilydale were selling NOS 304's the last time I was there, they even had one on display on a stand in their parts section. This was about 2-3 years ago so they are probably long gone by now, but still worth a try.

Sounds like you're not overly fussed about heads but a week or so ago when I was at Chev's I saw an ad there (Bay City Holden I'm pretty sure) for new 5L heads $500 pr I'm sure.

Bay city had a couple of motors a couple of years ago that I remember. A few getting around the wreckers too. What sort of heads Wonky? Large valve SV 5000/stroker style?
Didn't get a chance to ring around today...too busy with work.
My nephew actually has a damaged VT2 exec LS1 that he is flogging off with 59,000 on the clock.
I asked the same question of transplanting...he was tempted but his car is an SV89 and wants to keep the same running gear configuration for resale later on.

To be honest I didn't really take much notice but I would assume just stockies.

Hey mate have you tried PRO STROKE in Heathcote. I did a stroker engine in my old car a few years ago now and got everything from there. Didnt really cost an arm and a leg either. Unsure if they are still going but they did do lots of combo's back then. Worth a look.
If no luck try Chev's in carrum downs. He's got huge knowledge and contacts.
Best of luck mate.
Andy.
