leather seat covers

In the past month i have been doing a few cosmetic changes to the ute, just a few sublte things and now i was wanting to upgrade my interior, at the time( and even now) i didnt think the $2500 upgrade for leather seats was shall we say value for money so i opted for cloth seats, couldnt be happier with them.

Browsing ebay i came across this place in dandenong thats makes semi leather seat covers to fit anyholden( model specific, not one size fits all)

Seeing as my car is black i was going to go with full black trim with perforated black or red inserts, red double stiching and the holden logo.

Just wondering if anyone has delt with them before.

Mate just my opinion but they stink....... Look at the photos, the wrinkles and how loose it is. I see your in melbourne. Ring call connect and get the number for BLACKMANS LEATHER. I am pretty sure they were used at one point to do all holdens seats. They did some Coulson seats for me a few years back and they were perfect, they included genuine foams. I am pretty sure a full set of standard seat trims including door trims is around $1300 and you can fit them yourself its easy as.

the quote i recieved was $1200 with door trims, also they told me they still supply dealears, first thing i was asked was if it were a private sale or dealership.

makes you wonder how holden can charge 2.5k

$600 is front and back, from memory they're $420 (inc door inserts) for front only and have heard good things, haven't seen them in the flesh though.

However, I'd have concerns on the legality of these on seats with Airbags in 'em.

You need to compare apples to apples.

Vinyl ebay covers that look badly fitted with out airbag provisions

VS

Blackmans leather with perfect fit and proper side airbag provisions.

I know if I jumped into my car and the covers looked like the examples on their ebay add I would rather sit on the foam....they just look sh!t. If that's what you want....go for it.

One of my mates has those imitation leather seat covers from ebay. The fitment and feel isn't that bad, but by the same token you can tell its not real leather. Another thing they don't tell you is that your current seat trim (e.g cloth) has to be removed from the seat in order to fit the new covers. They don't simply slip over.

If you want factory grade seating, just buy a genuine leather interior off ebay. If you want something special and a bit better quality try blackmans, they are the shit. Even Mercedes dealers use them for their leather work.

The link you have provided, very very dear for seats......... All you guys are going on about side airbags, there aint no side airbags in a ute hey........ After all thats what he is putting them in......... STICK WITH BLACKMANS mate you wont go wrong and you get them just the way you want them......
