View Full Version : UNITED PETROL - 95 ULP with Ethanol
Now, I've been using the united 95 fuel with 5% ethanol in my car lately because it's 4 cents cheaper than everywhere else, and the actual servo I go to in Sunshine North (melb) is cheapest fuel anywhere (i reckon.)... I got the alloytec190 engine, is excess use of this fuel bad over time for my engine?

I have run my wife's VZ Lumina with std 175KW 3.6 Alloytec for past 3 years on United 95 without problem.
Provides smoother and slightly more power than 91 ULP.
I also ran my previous VE Calais V 6.0L and currently my VE SS Sportwagon on United 95 and believe it to be excellent value for money.
Also have used Shell V-Power in the past and could not see any real power or economy benefit over the United 95.
Higher Octane with lower cost than 91 ULP.
The Holden 6.0L runs very well on United 95.

I understand it to be Premium 95 + 10% Ethanol = 98.
Like Plus ULP is regular 91 unleaded + 10% = 95.
