Guys,

The A6 in the VE is experiencing some weird problems, and I am looking for some feedback/info regarding the problems.

The issue is noticable if im coasting, (eg going around a round-about) and then accelerate out of it, the gearbox will seam as if it slips as the engine winds up and then harshly kicks back into gear.. This has happened a number of time to suggest its not just a once off!

I have also had it taking off with a bit of hard foot (not WOT) and then back off, it actually stays in 2nd gear, till i accelerate past 5000+ rpm or break to a stop.

In sports mode, if I accelerate hard, and then brake quickly, the gearbox slams back into 2nd with what could be described as a compresssion lock (manual)

The car has had a tune with slight adjustments to the A6, I dont think its the tune, but Im open to suggestions.

Holdens have checked the car/gearbox and the oil level is correct, and they cant reflash to stock TCM as it appears as the current software and wont allow it.

Any suggestion would be appreciated, and this is starting to do my head in!!

I think its probably fair to ay that if u had adjustments made to your A6 and now you are having issues with it, that right there is your answer..

Take it back to the tuner and have them rectify it, and make sure your tuner knows what he's doing.. I think its fair to say that if you A6 was to shit itself right now, you wouldnt be covered by warranty seeing as someone has played with it. Get it fixed ASAP.

Has this only been happening since your A6 tune?

Very hard to put my finger on it as the car was tuned @ 600km

Has anyone had problems with the internal clutches or has it always been tune related??

Cheers

I'd suggest reverting to the standard A6 tune for a while, painful as that may be, and see if it still does it. Then you'll know for sure if it's tune related or box related.

Some people have blown them and apparently the clutch packs are one of the weak points from what I've read.

I had exactly the same thing happen to me after a tune as well, Have since taken it to Power Torque for one of their tunes and all seems well. The gearbox adapts to the way you drive but a better tune will fix those issues.

I was having problems with the A6 when it was standard, then had holden flash in an update and the problems went away.
Then had a tune done and now the old problems are back along with a few new ones :vpo::vpo::vpo: ..............bloody frustrating

Do you know what was wrong in the tune, that got adjusted?? Murphy's Law is when your trying to replicate it with Holdens/Tuner IT DOESNT HAPPEN!!!

Get the original tuner to flash the stock tune back into it and then take it from there and see if it still does it.
Strange that Holden couldn't flash a tune into the box for you though.

cheers

I kakked the clutches and cooked the solenoids in mine.

I have no idea what was wrong with the previous tune, but when Power Torque did there tune it was like a different gearbox without those previous issues. Power Torque did not modify the extisting tuners tune but started from scratch.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to everyone. Still trying to go out and find an easy way to replicate. Tonight I drove it hard in D with TC on.. and it appeared fine. When I drive easy, during peak hour etc. it looks like it is the worst.

Hope will nail it this week.

Cheers

Maybe it will only play up when the trans fluid is really warm, like in peak hour traffic.

Make sure that the correct fluid is being used in the box. That could be a source of the problems as well.
