So i bought a brand new SV6 on Friday, and after clocking up 100kms tonight my missus was driving it when it started beeping and a warning light came up on the dash saying Check Engine with a zigzag through it.
Got a hold of Holden Assist and they sent RACQ out, tried resetting the cpu without success.
Now it's on the back of a frigin truck, going to the racq yard, and i'm without a car till i know whats goin on with it on monday.
Anyone else had the same kinda problem with recent vehicles?

Get used to it mate.
Ive had it happen to me twice and its always for some little stupid thing that the cars electricals go crazy. If you fart too loud it triggers it off.
It would easily be fixed by some software upgrade by Holdens. I know its a new car but theyre always updating their mistakes with fixes.

Hey
My WM Caprice did exactly the same thing last week - turned out to be a faulty reading on a heat sensor which had to be fixed by resetting the CPU - this has happened twice before - warning and nothing bloody wrong!!
It is very frustrating as you say becuase you are without your car whilst they fix something that shouldn't have gone wrong in the first place. I must amit though it will be the one time you say "stuff it, I'm going to just keep driving it" that the senors will be working properly and you cook the engine.
I just don't have any confidence in the car nor the Dealer to fix it any more - roll on lease expiry!!
Thanks :):)

do the simple stuff, like getting under it and checking the o2 sensors are in place properly (got extractors on my VE V6 on friday) got it home no probs, then later on in the day, it chucks the CHECK ENGINE
so i have a looksie, and what do ya know, one has come loose!
push it back in till it clicked, then i disconnected the battery for 5 mins, and reconnected it, started her up - no probs!!
i would try to rule out these kind of minor problems, as if you take it to holden, while it may all be fixed under warranty, they have an awful habit of keeping your car for an incredibly long time....often sadly without fixing it (i'm not taking a swipe, but i have been through this with my father's ve senator, which spent more time in the dealership workshop in the first 4 months of us having it than at home - a new steering column, new dvd system and more - finally they realised only a software update was needed!!!!!!)
the above story was part of why i joined up here, so in the future i could have a little more knowledge when entering situations like these, because as they say, knowledge is power!
cheers
