Automerged double post...24 hours later

I understand the reason for the "automerge double post" function on the forum. What I don't get is why two of my posts were merged with 24 hours between posts. Can this be reversed as my two posts were related but an update on a project?

It will automerge if you post twice within 24hrs and noone has posted in between.
You made your 2nd post after 23hrs 49mins (1st at 6.52 yesterday, 2nd at 6.41 today), so it merged them.
BTW the link is invalid :p

It can be a bit frustrating, happened several times when posting updates in our vt track car thread, no big deal though, i think after 2 or 3 automerges it creates a new post..

Correct me if i'm wrong though.
