Wondering if anyone has had any experience with a different P/s fluid as i have had mine on the track twice and the oil keeps boiling in it. Great to hear the fluids you have tried

get a dot 5 rated fluid then. I cant see how it would be boiling as your driving in a straight line ???

Get a decent cooler hooked up and some Transmax Z. That should sort it out.

Hammer, perhaps Gools visits a track with corners in it? :|

The car is boiling after about the 5th Lap of the Queensland Raceway track. The oil is spilling out of the cap.

Put a decent p/s cooler on it. That should fix it.

I have the same problem, for the moment i live with it as it doesn't cause any dramas.

But if the power steering caps are like the older models with the plastic dipstick going into the fluid be very care full this doesn't melt and block the pump, this will lead to a nice engine bay fire.

As others have said DOT 5 fluid is a must

The factory power steering hydraulic systems on all models is barely adequate at best as far as cooling and maintaining a acceptable temperature. The pumps are positive displacement fixed pumps and are sized to deliver the correct maximum oil flow at around 1500 rpm. Sustained high rpm operation makes the priority flow control valve in the pumps bypass the excess flow back into the pump inlet which adds excessive heat to the oil. The tiny oil reservoir and the cheap "cooler" tube do little to dissipate the heat. The only viable option is to fit a good quality cooler (as others have suggested). This will definately sort out the problem.

After all the publicity from the previous models and leaky PS I can not believe that the overheating PS is still not addressed. Unbelievable.

As above easy fix with a couple of hundred dollars but still why should you when HSV has know this is a major problem with track days.
