Interested to hear if anyone else is having any problems getting to the site??

I have been a member for 9 months, logging on every day or two (Optus cable modem - capable of 6MBps).

About 2 weeks ago, something changed - about the time that some server work was apparently done on the ls1 site.

Basically, I copuld no longer get to the site. It timed out 99% of the time.

Optus say it isn't them, but it just happened to work for a day after they looked at the problem.....

I suspect there is a timing issue under some conditions, between Optus and the ls1 site. And our home server can't cope with the longer setup time - or something!!

Would appreciate any comments please.

On optus cable and no problems here. Do you have simalar probs with other sites? I have had a period where there was general access problems, but a release/renew of the IP address or a reboot usually fixed the problem.

you could try this

start/run/cmd.exe

type in

ipconfig /flushdns [enter]

also perhaps try and clear all you cache etc.

Thanks for help all.

We seem to have found a solution, for now at least.

Our tech guru (ie teenager) did a "hammer ping", ie many pings, at the LS1 web-site, which opened up more links to LS1 - and now it works.

Whether these links are at Optus, at an intermediate point, or on the LS1 server, is unknown.
