Who have you tried, and what area of Melbourne?
Quite a number of your larger specialist locksmiths can do these.

I only know one out in the east.
I'm no locksmith, but I just put my Monaro key up against my VE key, and damn, the profiles of the key blade look mighty similar.

the blade can be cut at any Minit store. programming for the VE isn't available everywhere yet.

so maybe get the blade done and go to Holden to program the head

yes you can cut the key blade its only a copy job of the original. they are the same type of blade that were on older models.... its the head programming (immobilizer) you'll have trouble with at most places. but that can be done at Holden.

Minit can do the whole thing up to VZ now. no VE yet.

Yep there is a chip in this lower key section that needs programming by the dealer.

I bought a new flip key, went and got it cut no worries at all, then off to Holden to program it. Frankston locksmiths. Cost about $25 from memory. Holden also upgraded my other keys (which I had to take in) to the more current version which is a bit stronger.
