G'day, I've been a member for some time now and thought i would post up my pride and Joy- 03 VY SS/executive

Modifications:

-Genuine holden SS body kit
-18" inch chrome Wheels
-SS handbrake lever and Gear shifter
-SS fog lights
-Alpine head unit and 12inch sub
-Pacemaker extractors, high flow cat, 2.5" exhaust.

Future Plans

-Lowered (tidily and practically)
-SS taillights and headlights
-SS pedals

fark i wouldv'e left it stock exec to be honest, lowered to cop height, hub caps, 225s, tints. why making it something its not, exec is sleeper, way more funnier and head turning than stock looking ss. each to there own enjoy your ride mate

People around here tend to be against changing body kits for some strange reason, it's like unless you can afford the SS or HSV, your not allowed a nice lookin car :confused: even funnier is if you change it to something unique and non holden you get shot down even more most of the time. :lol: you cant win.

The reason it's a look alike is because it's the best i can do on my red p's here in nsw and also because it looks great.

Yea thanx mate, the ss badge wasn't my doing, it was the previous owners but i like it... In relation to lowering it's on my list just can't afford it right now but i'm sure lowering will make it look even better. Do you know what springs will make it look neat and tidy lowered (just above the tyre)? I also plan to respray the black part of the ss front bumper, do you think it is possible to sand it back and do it with matt black? Also thinking of painting the brake caliper's but i think red may be a bit too much on a white car?

Looks pretty nice BUT get rid of the SS badges...im all cool with people putting body kits on their cars like you have but badging it as something its not doesnt really go imo.

Also needs to be lowered to get the "look" but all in due times mate.
In terms of springs well any really....kings,lovells,peddars.

ok thanks m8, yeah I've already removed the badges, as i said i didn't put them there. Also in relation to lowering the car, it's been suggested that i will need a camber kit also?

don't worry about a camber kit, they are a waste of money just get some cheap lovells or king springs,

Ok mate good to hear badges are gone.

If you dont want to replace your rear tyres every 10k's due to inside tyre wear than yes a camber kit is needed.

Usually without a camber kit a good set of springs installed will set you back aroun $400 but with camber kit added look aroun $700-$800 mark. But if its for the long term a camber kit is worth it imo

Anybody have some pictures of a vy ss lowered on different springs so i can get some ideas particularly on 18's? I'm also thinking of removing the 'series 2' and the 'commodore'' badge at the back, does anyone know or have an opinion if the plain look is better?

Is the chrome bar on executives just a stick on similar to the badges?

Some times my 18's look good sometimes they look to small. Im on the look out for an S pack kit though so i reckon that will set it off right

Yeah mate, thats the problem these days, most new cars are coming with 19's 20's so 18's don't seem as big anymore... Try holmart for the s-pak kit.

Bump. Doe anybody have any ideas on removing the rear chrome strip without damaging the paintwork and if it's even possible? I'm looking into getting the fron't bumper fully colour codded white, does anyone know how much i would be looking at?

Nope was in the process of doing so when i wrote that and i decided it's my car, so i'm going to leave it.

Future mods are some new rims and genuine fog lights. I'm thinking either Verde madonnas in 20's or cv8/vx gts style rims. Any opinions on the rims?

Thanks mate, yeah I'm not a chrome man either but will be upgrading soon to either black rims with a chrome lip or, Verde Madonna's or the cv8r style rims.

the lights and lowering has transformed the car, the wheels looked cheap when it was higher and looks so much better now the guards have met them for the 1st time, its always good to see someone who loves their car and keeps it clean, i used to, but getting lazier these days.

If I see a fake car and say oh thats nice but then realise its fake from something small like looking at the interior... Im still impressed cause they went to the effort to make it look good.


As for this car.... It looked like a SHITBOX before the new lights and tail lights but now looks pretty good I must admit... one of the decent fakes out there...... But the wheels look cheap im sorry to say....

but as its been said, get rid of the SS badges, i would be ashamed if i was at the lights and i had SS badges on my V6 exec and would get blown away every time by real SS's. A V6 SS mock up isnt cool!
