HI there all can some one help me out trying to find out the release date on vr series 2 because my berlina is an august built 1994 is it an series 1 or 2

Do you have the orange/clear indicator on the side of the car above the front wheels. This is a series II add on.

Clear side indicators are a VS series 2 update VR's all had rectangle orange side indicators.




To the OP, It should have a series 2 badge on it somewhere, but being mid 94 build I'd say it is or at least close to being a series 2 build.

I believe that September 94 was the release date for the Series 2.

Im pretty positive the side indicator had been around since VP (possibly series2).

Also, the rear garnish between the lights on a series 1 was often matt grey, where as the series two was like a plasticy grey or in some cases red..

Hard to explain the finish exactly, but they are totally different.

I don't think the VR II had an identifying badge although I think the "Commodore" badge had a new font.

Exec models definitely had the red garnish connecting the tail lights.
