A few guys have had issues with the 3.7 diff (HSV M6 diff) which some have put in their SS/SSV but apart from that I can't remember hearing of any others. Doesn't mean to say they aren't out there of course but these ZF diffs seem much better than the diffs in previous models.

the ZF diffs arent the greatest bits of gear unfortunately.
lots of ppl have had issues.
i had issues with my stock 3.45 and the HSV 3.7 and am onto number 2 of the 3.7...first 3.7 replaced under warranty..
current one is not flash either but until funds permit for a Harrop TrueTrac it will have to do
see a dealer about warranty but u wont get too far unfortunately
Thanks, l toke my car to Holden, they acknowlegded the issue, and are ordering a new diff, pretty sure its under warranty.

Could you also describe it as a mild low frequency vibration, particularly noticeable at a specific speed?
I have the above.
Unfortunately a new diff has not fixed the problem. The dealer has run out of ideas and called in Holden to investigate further.

They have allegedly swapped out all wheels, tailshaft and diff. No change.

:bawl:silly question i know...but we are talking about a dealer...
did they replace the actual 12 tailshaft bolts????
i know for a fact a slightly bent one or two can cause an annoying vibration at certain speeds...i have changed a few sets on mine coz of it

Was driving the company's VE yesterday on Port Road into the City. On Cruise Control at 60Km, there was a 'harmonic' (resonance) noticable - 'rolling in and out' as I drove!
Not sure if it was indeed a rear tyre harmonic?

My was noticable at any speed above 40km/h a clearly a mechanical noise.
It was not exhaust drone, or bad tyre wear as the dealer tried to point out to me before even taking the car for a drive.

Hiya Bullockbob - I have the same problem in my Adventra. Have changed tailshaft, new diff , new wheels/tyres and still have this dreaded vibration at 95-100kmh. I have noticed though if I pull it back into 3rd and maintain the same speed, the vibration is worse. Would this be pointing to the torque converter in the auto???

No question is silly :)
It is a dealer and I have no idea if they did or not. I might try and gently ask the question though.
Thanks

I'm no expert but I do know that I've got a manual
Sorry, just trying to inject some humour into a not very funny situation.

Might be better to start your own thread for this one Moonshines, as it's a very different model, and you suspect a very different issue. :)
