Hello,
I'm looking at get my rims powdercoated and ive emailed a few places. I just got a response from a place in Prestions (Mandows Powder Coating) and they want to know
"We would need to know if there is paint on there now, if so could you please find out if it is powder coat or a WET/House paint."
and ive got no idea, lol.... They are the normal VY SS 18's.

Im looking at getting them either black or the same colour as my brake dust (gunmetal grey i think).
Ive read about getting a tyre place to take the rubber off, so i'll have to find some chasers or anything to put on there for the 3 days or so.

Cheers

At least spend the money modding some decent rims.

The ones in question look cheap and tacky imo.

the missus will not let me spend money on new rims... Ive spent a fair bit on my car and shes not even happy i want to spend an extra $150 and getting them coated, lol.... I lke the look of the rims when they are dirty with brake dust, thats wat got me thinking of getting them coated.

Save your money with the powder coating and next time your brakes are done chuck in a set of Bendix Ultimates.

Proceed to drive around the block once and apply brakes firmly from 100 to standstill once only during the trip and you'll have black rims forever :)

dunno what they are, im assuming powder coat, im doing mine in the next 2 weeks, they cost about 20-40 to get each sand blasted, then etch prime and paint in what ever, search refurbish, or rim repairs on here and you find a fellas thread that he did to his ss wheels, im doing my vy ss wheels white for racing purposes

Mate, don't get them painted, get them powdercoated.

Tell the powdercoaters not to worry what's on them now because you want them sandblasted and etched. If you don't do that, they'll turn out shit.
