Its not brakes ???? coz doing lots of WOT will mean lots of Braking...
A4 or M6 ?? maybe it was the auto too ??
other then that , it could be anything

any oil leaks check around the rocker covers etc. no belt noise ?
should just smell hot...
i can tell an oil leaks or coolant leak just from the smell when you lift the bonnet.
last time after the rebuild i lifted the bonnet, mmm burning oil smell. checked around found both covers leaking near the back, only very small, and very hard to see it was so clean. just running onto the back top edge of the extractors.

Yeah I guess you could call it a hot smell more then a burning one
is it normal to have a strong hot smell after a few wot's
And is this good for the motor ?
no leaks BTW
Oil can make its way into the t/b after a few WOT runs .... so ya'd think a little bit of a oillish smell would be there ... not that I have noticed this with the VXSS. :driving:
I have smelt something too. usually a metal burning smell also like a match after you strike it and smell it.
Also after some WOT it smells like eggs or cabbage or sometimes a bottom smell. oops hold on thats my bum from all the excitment letting off some adrenalin farts.
But seriously i smell those sometimes on my old VS or now on my VX SS??
