Thought I would put up what I have done to my ute as I did start a thread a while ago when I first joined and didn't realize someone already had the thread "LS3 Stroker"
So here's what it has:
Engine;
LS3 block with callies 4" stoker and Mahle 8.9:1 pistons, Clevite Bearings,230/236 .592"/.598"@.050 114 cam, Pac Racing Valve Springs, TBS Throttle Body, Vortec V2 SQ 9psi Intercooled Supercharger, Surge tank with twin Bosh 44's Reg and 60lb injectors, All other parts heads etc are stock LS1 (yes huge potencial for more power etc if I replace these). Two memory PCM (helps with fuel economy when cruiseing)
Exhaust;
1 3/4" Pacemaker Ceramic 4-1 Headers, Twin 3' with custom F1 Mufflers and 3" cats.
Drive Train;
ACE Option 3 Clutch & Steel Billet F/Wheel, T56 with short shifter, 3.9 Diff, 18" Speedy Wheels 8" front 9" rear, Dunlop Sport Max 235 front 265 rear.
Before I did the LS3 Stroker it was doing 420rwkw/800nm as a 5.7ltr, but as you will understand the V2 is now a bit small and the heads are now struggling (future mods may be) to fill it as it is now 6.8ltr or 415ci. It has a amp and aftermarket speakers but I would sooner listen to the real sounds.

Not to good at this photo uploading, tried using photobucket and they come up, any sujestions ?
No haven't had it down the strip yet but it struggles with traction and getting the power to the ground so proberbly would not post a good time. the dyno used after the engine build was brand new and did not seem to want to register anything after around 400 kw, they where going to get the calibration checked but I have not been back since.

Under your photobucket pics there is an IMG Code. Simply click in the code box, this automatically copies the link to your photo. Now in a reply to this thread simply press ctrl c on your keyboard.
The code will be copied to your reply and then when you click submit reply your photo(s) will appear.
Now this assumes youve made 10 technical responses to threads?

The wheels may look tiny to some people but this is built for driving, big fancy chrome 20"/22" are good if you want every body to look at it and arn't much cop on a race circut or on the black strip. It is a lot cheaper for tyres if you have all your wheels the same size and you can swap em around different rims as they wear out.

Thanks Clint, it has taken a while and a lot of money to get it finished to this level since your comments in my old thread LS3 stroker. her are some pics of the engine bay.

Strut brace will come one day (money money money)
Yeah the average person looks under the bonnet and it all looks like LS1 as the whole top end is LS1. but the bottom is built strong and will handle 24/25 psi if I go that far in the future. but it is a alsome torquey engine, 100klm per hour in 6th hit the go peddle and it goes no need to down shift. the only thing that gives it away is the mod plates and it is right on the limit for cubic capacity for the weight of the vehicle with a hair dryer.

Can I ask why you used the LS1 heads on the LS3 block?
Did you only buy the block?

Budget build, as I had broken the ring lands on the 5.7ltr on Lakeside Raceway I was up for new pistions (only 1) so rather than putting std pistions back in a forced engine forged bottom end would be the way to go. so you know how it goes while doing that why not a stroker and I wanted a stronger block than the LS1, didn't wont cast because of weight, so the LS3 was the best option and at $1,795 a good price at the time. do it once do it right, I now have the base that I can keep building on when I have spare money. but the power it is putting out now is more than enough for a streeter and a bit of track work as it is already a handfull on a race circut with similar power to a V8 supercar without the handling and traction.

Is it stroked 402 or 427 ?
Im interested in getting a monaro soon and wanted to stroke it just trying to get some idea of the prices .
does anyone do a 454 7.4 L yet ?
also going to have harrop 122 supercharger and cams

Is it stroked 402 or 427 ?
It has a 4" stroker crank in a 6.2 ltr block, pistons are 5 thou over to allow for torque line hone which makes it 415 ci / 6.8 ltr

Cheers for the info mate
It makes sense when you explain it like that now. Would be a complete weapon with the LS3 heads and intake.
Good work, can you put some under bonnet shoots up?

next time you hit the track Brent let me know, I am very keen to get back into trackwork that involves turning the steering wheel and going up AND down gears lol.

Yeah it is much more exciting and skill required than just going straight, whats the point of having big brakes and not using them. Will have to wait untill the realestate market picks up again before I will be able to afford to get on a track again, cash flow is not to good at the mo. Will let you know if I do anything Ash.

Thanks mate, purchased all my parts off Capa so got a good price as I had bought a lot of stuff off them and this was back in April this year when the Aussie dollar was real strong against the US, I was proberbly one of the first one's with an LS3 block at the time in Qld as they had only just come out in the HSV range back then, and I had to wait for the container load of them to arrive.
