Holden Service

Hi all,

My first thread here so here goes, I would like everyone to post their experience wether its good/bad with Holden Service Department ( log book service / warranty claim etc ). I have always taking my car to Holden dealership in Campbelltown NSW for a service, warranty claim etc and so far they have been reasonably good even though I have to admit that some of their service advisors does not have enough product knowledge about cars in general ( sorry if I offended some service advisors out there ).
And they are there to squeeze more money out of you for example, when I dropped me car off for a 60000kms service the other week, one of the advisor suggested that I should get my brake fluid changed and my air cond system serviced and freshened. My replied was big NO NO and I reminded them that the brake fluid had been changed in the last 45000kms service :doh: ( surely this must come up in the car service history in their system as I've always taken my car there for service ) and I would not pay $99 for an air cond system service when I could just buy an Ambi Pur air freshener for $7 in Woolies :lmao:

Sorry for the long thread but yes it would be interested to hear some of your stories in regards of Holden Service Dept. be it good, bad, or funny one.

I voided my certified warranty buy not getting my car serviced at holden
stuff paying $200 a pop for a apprentice to work on my car
I do it my self now
and the last straw was when the main gate blew into the side of my car and they refused to pay for the damage

i get mine serviced by Holden, it's on site, cost about $200 (same as anyone else) and it means i get extended warranty etc.
My advise..... Go Holden or do it yourself. There's no point going anywhere else unless you know the mechanic personaly

Considering he has been a member on here for not even 1 month, maybe he is like 99% of us when we first started on here and didnt know how to find these things out by themselves. Ridiculing people on here cos they dont know how to use all of the features on here is only making peoples impressions of this site even worse than it currently is. Just because your are the NUMBER 1 POSTER on here doesnt mean you have the right to degrade the newcomers.:xmas:

Hey SV6er, try some of the sponsors on here, if theyre nearby, or maybe some performance shops as at least if you use one of them, you are just about guaranteed you dont get some apprentice taking your car for a thrash or forgetting to tighten something up. Also look at the convenience of where a Dealership is against a sponsors workshop. You will get some people who swear by sponsors and others who swear by Dealerships. Both have pros and cons. There would be lots to read in the threads that Planetdavo was kind enough to dig up for you. Hes the man. I think hes a guy anyway. I stand to be corrected.:)

I can highly recommend Kelly Holden in Newcastle for good srvice, never had a problem with them and they never try to rip you off with extra work that's not necessary

I do like the way a quick search of your posts reveals that 75 plus percent of them are aimed specifically at my posts only, and are just obvious attempts to bait.

but at least planetdavo went to the trouble of posting links to the searched pages
there is nothing more anoying than someone who just posts
been discused before use the search button
quite often as a newbie we use the search button but get hundreds of results
and don't find the answers in the first ones we read so give up and post a new topic

Get used to it Kev. Whether Davo is arguing with VESS60 about

PS...If I was to beat off over my car you wouldn't even notice, it hasn't
had a tubs for 3 weeks and is farkin disgusting, even the wife told me
off on friday for neglecting it lol.
