There is an increased emphasis on all traffic enforcement which coincides with the christmas holidays, but to say LS1/2 are being targetted, I doubt it, or I missed the memo. Not to mention the majority of coppers would have no idea what LS1/2 means, let alone what it is.

Hey fellers,
I'm looking at getting an OTR in the next couple of weeks for my VZ monaro. I heard they don't pass emission constraints however I thought it was pretty hard to test this. Is there anything else illegal about them? Whats the fine like for the induction being too load? Nearly everyone who mods a LS1 these days seems to get one, anyone had any problems with insurence companys also?
Cheers

OTR are genrally illegal as it hasnt been certified to meet adr and there is a 99% chance the tune has been changed which also goes for Mafless removal which effective alters the vehicles compliance. But just another thing to add to the list of items the some police deem to be illegal on most tweaked or modded cars. All in the name of revenue rather then road saftey, As Krudd's blown the dough and needs to get it back

From what I've been told the are targeting alex and mooloolaba on the sunny coast till end of Jan so just don't go out to the usual "hoon" spots and you should be right. I have heard in the past of the police targeting a certain type of cars e.g. 4wds, jap imports, V8s but is only what i've heard don't know how true it is

Funny story that only happened about 2 weekends ago down the Peninsula somewhere (Vic).
General Duties coppers are given a job with no less than 5 complainants about a heap of cars in a beachside carpark, doing burnouts, chucking rubbish about, drinking, etc.
Coppers respond and in the end, a couple of traffic cars also show up and there are a number of yellow stickers issued.
I have been on cruises down there a bit and haven't seen this happen before, so is it the coppers, or the behaviour of the people doing the wrong thing that is to blame?
Cheers,
Macca

i think its being in the wrong place at the wrong time, hanging around other people with modded cars draws attention and then u are a target but in general traffic just look a stock commodore. I dont think coppers no what a LS1/LS2 is and they will target or pull over any car that appears to be modified namely cars that sit 5mm off the ground with 20mm chrome rims. Stick with the sleeper I say.

If you are hanging out in Maccas carparks or doing lap after lap of the city with your doof on being fully hektik @ 3am you deserve a smack about the head - let alone a move on order.
Gotta laugh at the fools whining about being targeted.. after they spend hours trashing carparks, leaving rubbish everywhere.. yep.. poor innocent little buggers being persecuted.

Thats exactly right.
I remember the days of driving like a knob, hanging out at all the cool spots with heaps of cars and driving cars that draw heaps of attention. Getting defected etc, but I didn't whinge about it.
Now I am a little older now and I don't do all that crap, I look at the kids today doing the same thing and just whinging about being busted etc.
Most cops don't care about defects so unless you hang out with all the other drop kicks spanking over your new 20's in a carpark with 50 others I doubt you will have many problems. It all comes down to attitude. It's always better to just bite your lip, than to have your stock car defected because they can.
Thats BS too about the cops targeting LS1/LS2 cars. I mean really. Tell your family friend to wake up to himself.:)

W427 has a factory OTR, ADR complied.
Noise and emissions are the handicaps.

Yes some people deserve what they get. Take last night for instance, pull up behind a car stopped at lights in a fully marked police car. He then proceeds to light em up and do a big line lock in front of me.

Yeah, I had to put an LS7 with OTR in my car just to get emmissions compliance.
Damn Coppers

Sounds like my neg driving charge more than a few years ago. :eyes:
Though in my defence (?) it was an unmarked car :goodjob:

No matter how many times people say "I pay police wages", I still don't get it?
Why or how do you think you pay police wages?

Some people are just knobs.... and that includes some police out there. But at the end of the day they have a job to do. You just make it that much easier if you hang around with idiots in places that are likely to attract attention. Don't you think the the police get sick of them too.
As for doing a line locker in front of a marked police car..... KNOB. Probably thinks he is cool for doing it!

So ANY government authority that collects money for doing there job, IE: Building, council, MTA, Police / Firies / Ambos pay to keep the country afloat. So effectively you don't pay their wages. But I guess it's so easy to shoot off random comments and think it sounds cool.
The funny thing is the people that police deal with most are dero housos who have never had a job, never will have a job, own $50 to their name and bitch and moan saying that they pay police wages, when in fact they have never contibuted anything to this country.
As stated before you get busted, deal with it and stop being little whingers.

I'm not surprised!
A couple of years ago I stayed at the Grand Palais for a couple of weeks in a water view, and it was like a friggin' Saturday night on Chapel Street! Doof everywhere, ricers with the full drift look, fully sik Commo's on and off the throttle up the hill. All this was going on EVERY DAY!

Balco admitted to starting a thread yesterday PURELY to build up a post count so he could sell something on this forum.
I smell another "generic" post building thread....:spew:

I learnt the hard way of avoiding the copper radar, basically you go out every fri/sat nite till late (sometimes early morn) they get to know you and just assume you are up to no good and there for target you, especially if you are in an obviously modified car.
So as said before in this thread don't hang in obvious spots and be seen with knobs and/or other obviously modded cars in an area known to cops as a hoon spot then more than likely you'll get pulled over and your car inspected

What a joke !!!
Every day in QLD is a blitz . Maybe some of the traffic guys should be transfered to general duties & do some good for the country instead of just raising revenue !!!! :flipoff:
