hey guys after searching almost every post in regards to capiler cleaners im now even more confused.. i even went down to suttons to get the hsv brake cleaner but the guy had no clue what i was talking about...

ive recently purchaced a set of VE hsv brakes and was wondering what spray cleaner i should use on them to remove all the brake dust and grease.. without being abrasive to the paint work..even tho as im going to have these resprayed after removing the hsv logo.. i found that after cleaning them slightly in a soapy wash it took away some of the shine..

an help is great thanx guys

For spray I use Brakleen, I also spray the discs and pads as much as possible and can feel the difference. I dont know what HSV reccomend but it works for me. Nulon and CRC both make them, Repco or Supercheap. Hope this is of some help.

I dought it was the soapy water that has faided them if you were using normal type car wash.

Kero is good for cleaning brake dust etc, i use it on the bumpers and gaurds after drags to remove rubber and then give the area a wash and polish and have no probs with paint.

Wurth brake cleaner is good for stuborn stains but may fade the paint.

I've never had any issues cleaning them with the same alloy wheel cleaner I use on the rims.
Basically the same sh!t on either, and both have a painted surface.

Same here...Sontax is the rim and brake cleaner HSV gave me and it works well on both with a high pressure cleaner to blast shite off...

Wonder if it's up there with the "Michelin tyre pump" from Kmart..
There seems to be a bit of "licensed" product around lately.
Hopefully you have good reports on the brake cleaner, as I haven't seen anyone use that one so far.
