Hi all, new to all this, brought the vt 2 cheap $5000 just as a toe car about 3months ago for my 9 sec Lh Torana, but one thing lead to another and now l have lots interest in the tory, and in love with the gen3`s, did a few bolt on mods and raced it last Saturday at Calder Park to see what it would run, it`s A4 standard convertor with 3.07 gaers, shifted into 3rd around the 1000 foot mark, need the 3.73 that l have been hearing all about, ran 13.8et at 102 mph with a bit for wheel spin, 60 footer was 2.2(a bit of a difference to the tory`s 1.36, but anyway, it was so nice just to drive to the track and buy fuel from a petrol station less stress and f#$king around too.

mods that have been done so far are hpc coated try-y pacemakers into hi flow cats and twin 2 1/2" redback x-pipe exhaust
Gm motorsport ebay mafless tune and otrcai

next mods,
need to do a few more like a vx gen 3 on inlet manifold and bigger T/B
what kind and size T/b would be best(not to big)
powerbond 25% underdriven balancer
the 3.73 and maybe a 3500hi stall, the tory`s got a 5500hi stall in him and l love it, and a set of et streets or slicks
and of course a 300hp hit of gas on a progressive controller(borrow from tory)
anything eles l should do??? any help would be much appreciated!!
also with these next mods l`m thinking of doing how much faster would it ran roughly down the 1/4 n/a, without the gas, gas will be last only need to buy the ls1 nos plate, nice plate no spray bar

and maybe a turbo up it`s arse hole like the USA Squires systems the best on the market, only ever seen it here on a xr8 dead stock ran 11.8 with 6 pounds and no cooler, here a link http://www.ststurbo.com/

If you are buying the ls1 nos plate from holley you would be better off staying with the standard TB but get it ported. These plates cannot be opened up to suit a bigger TB due to the way they mix the gas & fuel. I think they will also only flow up to a 200hp shot.
Mine should be up for sale real cheap soon as I need a plate to suit the 80mm TB & run 2 dry stages.
IMO if you were going to try & spray 300hp I would be looking at a set of headbolts or studs as well. Higher cylinder pressures could start lifting the heads & pushing water otherwise.

A bit of guerrilla advertising?

thanks for that bit of info, l`m more old school, just learning about the gen3`s
how much do you want for that nos plate???
l do have a ported T/B not fitted, l`ve tried it before l did any mods and it didn`t work, it was like putting a 1050 on a stock 253, it went backwards and sounded very fat, instant 1/100km was between 66.6 to 99.9, l took it off straight away, with the standard tb it was ok again, could this be because l still have the stock ls1 inlet manifold, looking for the vx+ls6 type manifold, thanks

Make sure your wallet has plenty of folding stuff in it. You'll need it for a new donk. As your probably aware the quality of the tune will be paramount running that much gas on a stock motor. A good trans cooler would be advised too. The stock A4's let go pretty quickly.

Sounds like a good plan you have. Should be a real rocket and should be a relatively cheap way of getting a very good time.

Hi, Just got a ls6 style manifold off ebay and a 25%underdriven balancer, still need a set of gears??? what gears should l run with nitrous
l think with the nos progressive controller l shouldn`t hurt anything, apart from the box(it`s a bit soft now just waiting for it to go)

with the transcooler would you recommend running a transcooler on it`s own
or still go throw the radiator(l wouldn`t mind pissing off them cooler lines from around the radiator, should make life alot easier once there gone
