Quite interesting to say the least and I think it would be a good thing aswell to bring some extra variety to HSV. May be a sign to that Holden are bringing in the Corsa and Insignia to justify such things as part costs. But that probaly adds more fuel to them rumours of the cheap and premium side of the future Holden line up.

Your thoughts?

Hey, if Holden won't bring them in, at least HSV will, and the warmed up versions at that...

Gotta be a good thing I say :goodjob:

That insignia is an ugly thing. The only part that looks half decent is the rear, and that's only because it looks like a 5 series.
The Corsa aint much better either.

But then, looks a subjective. Does anyone think they are good looking cars?

Do you think HSV will do any cosmetic work to these cars? Or just whack a badge on em?

Myself, I can't see this being a successful project for HSV. Guess we'll find out though soon enough.

Well holden/hsv (i know holden are not getting them) need more cars like these in their lineup.
Whether successful or not, the market has been moving into smaller sized cars for a while now, and the ones available with a lions badge arn't anything special atm.

This would be lunacy for HSV to attempt if there wasn't a Holden version to go with it. Providing a complete parts lineup for two orphan models that they'll only sell a few hundred examples of per year? Madness.

Anyway, who the hell would want a hot Insignia? I'd imagine it would be about as pleasant to drive as a TRD Aurion and would sell just as well given that it would end up costing as much as a Clubby anyway...

I like the look of the Corsa.

However, are the sales volumes really there?

I don't see too many Astra VXR's on the road.

The thing is with the euro Opels, they have a class on the road when you see one.

The Jap cars are too alike with similar lines.

The latest small Fords may have striking looks, but this tends to polarise peoples views which they either love or hate them,
whereas the euro Opels have a classy upscale presence on the road which ages better and tends not to offend people.

Guess thats why the imported euro Opels have done better for Holden than the imported euro Fords.

Poking my eyes out with a fork was the best thing i've ever done since seeing those cars.

The insignia? ... more like the maxima with a bucket of spew thrown on it.

Any more news on the Insignia?
Seems it will be here last quarter:

It will be here last quarter of this year. It will be called the Insignia. All Sedan Wagon and Hatch will be available. Not all engines will make it here. There most (90%) likely will be a HSV VXR version.

The Corsa is not a bad little number does look like a slightly more compact version of the Astra.

The Insignia reminds me of the Ford Taurus that once graced (unfortunately) our shores in the 90s.

I reckon the Insignia looks great. Can't say the same for the Corsa though.

They both look the goods, Barina based on Corsa > Barina based on Daewoo any day.

I think it would be great to have them here and it's no R&D for HSV, just swap the Vauxhall badges.

AWD and 7 power plants, could be just what the doctor ordered......too bad if it comes here we wont see the full range:bawl:

Is it just me or does it look far too much like the Toyota Aurion????

I say winnar, but ONLY if they return to bringing the barina in from the corsa stable, not the korean stuff we have now. Then a hot barina would sell like hotcakes, well better than bigger HSVs at the moment.
