Got a quote today on an exhaust.

Pacemaker Tri-Y's
Metal Substrate Cats
Twin 2.5" into Single 3" Catback

$2800 installed

Does that price sound OK?

sounds a bit rich to me to be honest, why are you going twin 2.5 into single 3 inch catback? if you have any more future mods planned, id go a complete twin system on a ute

cheers

Unless it's gold plated, that sounds a bit steep.

thats a ripoff mate
and to twin 2.5 all the way
not single 3"
you can pick up twin 2.5 X force system off ebay for $400
headers- $700-800
cats-$400

Glad I checked, did sound a bit steep.

Do the Xforce systems sound good straight off the shelf, or do you have to remove or replace the mufflers to get a good note out of them?

If you want a nice, deep, tough note from a bolt on, then I would
be going for one of Sureflo's Twin 2.5 into single 3.5 exhausts.
Might be a bit dearer than the x-force, but you will love it :)

This one be alright? Twin 2.5" Xforce (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=110328781967)

Or even this Twin 3" Xforce (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/VT-VU-VY-VX-VZ-V8-COMMODORE-TWIN-3-XFORCE-EXHAUST_W0QQitemZ120353676063QQihZ002QQcategoryZ50 140QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem)

I'll be going with Cam/Tune/CAI very shortly, but the twin 3" is overkill isn't it?
Which one would sound better off the shelf? Any owners of the above systems care to comment?

I replaced my Sureflo 3.5 single with the x-force twin 3 inch, but that
was on a cammed car. I never had it on my car bolt on though.
It is great value for $ though, can't argue with that. Sounds tough
as on a cammed LS1 as part of a full exhaust also :)
Edit: I reckon just go for the twin 3 mate, even if it is a little bit
big at the moment, it will sound good and leave you room for more
mods down the path

go the twin 3" sounds better then the twin 2.5
and it will give you room to grow
I had mine on when I was bolt on and didnt notice any torque lose

Evening,

$2800, "Bend Over and Pass The Vas"!

Agree totally with all of the other comments.

XForce twin 2.5 on mine and happy as Larry. After the very mild cam install the thing is actually too loud for my liking, but just have to be a bit careful.

You will not be disappointed with the XForce gear.

Cheers,

Hogs,:)

If youre looking at a cam, i found with mine i needed a minimum of 1 3/4 headers 4-1's, i went 1 7/8's into twin 3", but the size of cam you choose will alter the size headers/pipes you need, i hope this helps a bit :) Good luck though, i use difilippo but they are expenswauve

Probably a stupid question, but does this mean I should also use 3" cats?

another vote for the twin 3 inch xforce, had mine on for a month or so now. Very happy with it, sounds great, much deeper. With my old 2.5 inch I removed the rear resonator to make it louder, however now having the 3inch if left the rear res on for now, plenty loud enough.
