Retrimming baby seats - legal?

I've seen a couple around where people have done it, just wondering if its legal as I'm considering it myself for when bub comes. I'd probably do it in matching vinyl (instead of leather) for ease of clean, maybe even have a Holden logo stamped into it :) ...

Also, can you change the padding? most seem to me to be extremely hard.

As long as you don't change or move any of the harness seat belts, should be fine
