Congratulations Tony on getting your awesome GTO to Motovation and taking second Outright in the HP Shootout Competition. Concidering it is an auto it is a great result for you.
Some photos of Tony's GTO...
http://www.marksworkshop.com.au/Pages/custom/GTO%20PIC.htm
Tony's car is the replacement that Mark put together to replace the V2 Monaro that was crashed injuring Mark and writing the car off. It is a total credit to Tony and his patience and desire to have one of the toughest, cleanest cars around. Hope you get to enjoy this one Tone and it gives you many miles of "entertainment"! I personally think the GTO is a far nicer car....
The car that Tony came runner upto is also prepared at Mark's Workshop
http://www.marksworkshop.com.au/Pages/custom/GTS%20PIC.htm
Both have ETP LS7 based 402" motors.

Id like to thank mark from mws for the speedy effort he has taken in rebuilding another car for me. he has taken extra care in all the shinny bits , and i am over joyed the car made it to motorvation . Id like to thank john from SQP . he has always been helpfull when i have asked questions, and has always given me a no bull answer . id also like to thank daniel from chipmaster for tuning my car , he has flown over several times to tune . hopefully he will be back in three weeks , when then we will fully tune the car with a manual , not a 4l80e with a 5000 stall , which is making it unsafe to tune.thanks guys:goodjob:

May I ask what happened to the first 1??

off course you can. It is no secret. The facts are that Mark crashed it at low speed on a test drive. The car went down an embankment on a country road and rolled onto it's side bending the car through the middle and injuring Mark at the same time.
The rest that floats around is Urban Myth.....

Was a very neat looking car, and something that suprised me from the MWS camp, is that you drove it around... it sounded farken tuff as. any plans to run it before the auto comes out?

these cars are on display at the show but rest well assured they get driven plenty. Another urban myth just because they aren't seen at the track.

How Much Power Did It Make??
I think it made high 800 rwhp or low 900 rwhp on the day. Can't remember exactly. Lots left in it, it would seem.

Glad it is all finally starting toi come together Tony after a very long haul , I flew out of town a few hours before moptivation started but was happy to hear the top three supercharged cars on the dyno were ones I had tuned for MWS all with a Howquick motor in them.
Rest assured guys all these top level cars like Tonys and the VE that took top HP honours are daily drivers that get given plenty of stick by the owners.
if we had of converted to a man for the show I am certain HawkLS7 would have taken out the honours , on the dyno during tuning we saw 970 rwhp through a high stall that was flashing to 5400 rpm , its making some serious mumbo for a streeter.
The VE GTS saw just over 1000rwhp through its manual but was not pushing as hard to get to that point as we were with the auto car of Tony's.
Back again in 3 weeks mate to get yours finished so you can enjoy it out on the road again.

We are going to put the manual for tuning perposes and possibly next year we will have the manual for the show. but as a weekender ill put the auto once tuning is complete, and once im ready ill bring it to race, with the correct setup. The auto is a fully built 4l80e unit with all hard parts. it has been capable of handaling the hp very well.I will be driving it regually once complete but safely for street use it will be de tuned for safety .I cant wait to drive , especially with the stall at 5400 .

what hasn't been said here is that Tony builds his own autos, made the drive for the blower and spend countless hours making all the bling pop the way it does including all the hand pollishing of all the alloy parts. He relocated all the ABS etc himself. It is far from just dropped at a shop and pay the bill.:goodjob:
Looking forward to a drve myself Tony.....:)

Where is the ABS??
hawkls7
23-01-2009, 12:50 PM
the abs was moved below the brake booster unit near the steering nuckle. all the lines had to be re flared to suite, it was a pain but now it is easier to change plugs and it looks neater out the way.

Very nice and clean build. I built my setup based off of a car that Daniel and his guys built. Mine is an ETP LS7 with a Procharger F-1R. It made 1018rwhp through the 4l80e. Do you mind telling a few details about yours. Compression? total timing at wot? Do you run a filter on that intake or is that just for dyno usage? I would love to have one but have no idea where to look. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks for any help and once again VERY NICE.

I think the dyno intake is called a turbo bellmouth, but obviosly has a small 90 degree fitting on it.

So that is just for dyno use. I thought it was but figured I would see if there was some king of hood mod to use it. Thanks
